Saw this in SI the other day found it funny to be honest. One thing to take into consideration is that they only polled 296 players in the league and there's more than 1700 in total. That's less than a fifth of the players. Also the fact that Green Bay is probably the only "town" to have a football team. I think many players, especially the flashy young ones, are interested in the life of a big city. Which in my opinion is a good thing, we don't need any troublemakers here.

Green Bay will be and nearly always (last few decades) has been a place players don't want to go to, but once are here love it. Green Bay isn't flashy and doesn't do anything to get the attention of players. They let other factors speak for them. That's how it should be. If a player wants to go to a town for the night scene and things to do around town, there not the type of player you want on your FOOTBALL team.

3- Green Bay is a small town. True. How is that a bad thing? You'd think lots of free agents would like that. At least, I would think.
4- Weather in Green Bay is fine. If you don't like it, wait 15 minutes, it'll change.

I agree completely. When you are NFL star or even just a role player etc... with enough money to "live it up" like no one else then why would you want to be in a city the size of a big suburb. I'm not saying GB as a city is not great but cmon. Wouldn't you rather have a great job in Miami than in GB.
Also the weather absolutely SUCKS in GB. Simple as that. I don't like the bitter cold at all. I can handle winter snow etc...but that biting, nasty chilled to the bone cold is just not that great.

But all that being said GO PACKERS!

If you're good enough, you'll get away with stuff like that. Not from the law, maybe, but NFL teams don't care too much, it seems.

Just take a look, which good player got released from his team for behavior related issues or illegal activities. And I don't mean Vick or Burress, as they really had no choice with their players going to jail. And I don't mean a Justin Miller, either.

Steve Smith is a perfect example. He punched a teammate, gets benched for behavioral issues, but no way in hell that they're going to release that guy.

If you're good enough, you'll get away with stuff like that. Not from the law, maybe, but NFL teams don't care too much, it seems.

This is nothing new yet the Packers have done well over the years.
The #1 draft pick in 1980, Bruce Clark LB out of Penn State, refused to play for the Packers and instead went to the Canadian Football League.

Troy Aikmen told the Packers that if they drafted him he wouldn't play for them.

It happens infrequently but for the most part if you show them the money and if the Pack starts to look like a contender, they will come.

The biggest problem right now is that the Packers have a GM that is trying to squeeze the buffalo shit out of a nickel and couldn't sell blood to a mosquito.
