Question Warhawk..

"How does one stop the engines now?"

I am so jacked I could play ball today.. ;)

Excellent draft, solidified with a strong day 2.

Man, even when we go four down with Kampman, Jolly, Raji, and Jenkins we're talking about a whole lot a shaking goin on. And it's going to be the opposing QB doing the shakin'.

Plus, I can't wait to see Jenkins over there taking on two blockers and watching Mathews come roaring in off the edge. Bam!

The mind reels... what if (and I know it's a big IF, but still) Harrell gets healthy? Can you imagine a front line of Kampy, Harrell/Pick, Raji/Pick, Jenkins and Matthews/whoever else will play ROLB?

Harrell, Raji, Jenkins - all of them can take on multiple blockers and all have the potential to penetrate as well - what's AD gonna do if he's got O-linemen falling backwards and those 3 in his face as soon as he gets the ball?

Potential-wise, this D could be something to see - now they just have to reach that potential.

both Rock, you pass up the best player on most peoples boards, and then you blow your whole draft but picking someone that would've been there in the 2nd round. No way in hell is Matthews worth 3 picks

This is getting ridiculous. Clay Matthews would not of been their in the second round. He was a first round player on everyone's radar. You can say they gave up to much and I'd agree although the trade chart says the Packers got the better end of the deal, but to say Clay Matthews would of absolutely been their in round two is giving out poor information.

They had to deal up for him.

The question is did they give up to much and did they end up addressing their needs with their later picks and make up for the loss of two thirds.

The answer to both is probably yes to both.

Yo guys are right according to Mel Kiper but then again your wrong about the main thing and that is our team must really suck because Kiper says we got 5 starters from the draft. So if we are such a great team how the hell do you get 5 starters from the draft? He says The Blob will start at NT and the man of 3 will start at LB and the 2 OT's will start along with the FB. But your right we filled all our holes like we do every year.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be šŸ™‚ (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Three picks? Where do you get three picks from? We traded our 2nd round for their first then took a sixth for a third. So ultimately we lose one pick in the third round.

What's ironic is that I would have been o.k. with Meredith in the 3rd had we stayed put and we end up getting him later anyhow.

I heard Mel Kiper and what he said was the two OT's could EVENTUALLY become starters. He never said they would start or even see the field this year. J.T. Lang is a nasty converted defensive lineman with a lot of upside and Kiper never said they guy would compete for starting spot in '09.

5 starters is a projection down the road. I think maybe four, but the two offensive lineman aren't both going to start right away.

They got two probably right out of the gate.

Why would you not count the pick they gave back in the 5th?

When your scheduled for 9 picks entering the draft and end up with eight and only made one trade that involved picks how can that trade add up to losing more than one pick?
