Concussion aren't a specific illness. There is a range of symptoms from severe (think vomiting, loss of consciousness, lingering effects) to minor (dizziness).

If you don't remember hitting your head, then it is a concussion. It's possibly that Rodgers got dizzy after the hit but was not concussed.

Yep, very true. Peppers got underneath his helmet (damn near blew it off his head) and hit him in the chin. You hear about boxers who have an iron chin, but if they get hit in just the wrong spot, they'll lose it. It has to do with equilibrium and causing the central nervous system to think it has completely lost it's balance.

This has more to do with the processes of the inner ear and the messages that are sent to the brain than the brain itself. Sometimes a boxer or MMA fighter will get knocked out cold with one punch. That doesn't automatically mean they've got a concussion. The more i think about it, the more I am convinced that Rodgers simply got "rocked" by an illegal shot to the chin.

My problem with this whole thing is the unnecessary hit. That was a calculated helmet to helmet shot; and this league needs to start ejecting & suspending these dirty bastards when they do this, even if they wear a G on their helmet.

Just wondering how many times we were flagged for helmet-to-helmet. From memory I can only think of 2 instances. One was Zombo on Cutler in week 3, which I believe was an almost-form tackle, just a little high (hit Cutlers chin).
The other was Nick Collins, but I can't remember what game this was. Was this hit also in the week 3 game against the Bears?
The point I am trying to make is I am glad the Packers aren't coached to play this way.

I think this was a dirty move on Peppers part and what I really couldn't believe was the ignorance of the Bears coaches and the players. It was clearly a blatant attempt to knock Rodgers out of the game.

The only drop I remember was the laser dart that went through Quarless's hands. I believe the other pass to Quarless was a lousy throw, not a drop. Most of these throws were routine for Rodgers, but he was off on them. I admit, though, that he made some bad throws before the hit by Peppers. I hadn't heard about the shoulder issue, so that could explain it.

at the knees, in his hands

Bad pass? I guess you can say that but it was in his hands, he dropped it

Same drive a fast toss to Jennings right at the numbers

I wasn't aware of the shoulder issue until this morning.
I'm sure he will be fine by FebRuary 6th.
Rodgers just doesn't seem to get any protection from the officials.
He has been hit numerous times in a way that would have brought a flag for some other quarterbacks.

The reaction of some of the coaches on that hit is typical bares bullshit.
The Bears still SUCK!

In defense of Rod Marinelli (sort of), I think he may have been yelling at his players to get into position rather than yelling at the refs. But Peppers and Briggs were obviously yelling at the refs. Classless.

Think Urlacher was too

I recall saying he needs to be careful, might get ejected..He was yelling at ref on that same drive b4 the hit

Maybe Urlacher should chew out that anemic offense. What a piece of crap they put on the field. Mathsay took out Hester and Woodson took out Olson - what else do they have?

Gunny and me owe our offensive line an apology - they look like All Pros compared to those bums from Chicago. I sure hope the Bears re-up Kruetz and don't bother replacing Garza; cause those guys are dog shit, and their late round offs at tackle are pathetic too.

I was reading the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times articles after the game.

More than one comment from Bears fans characterized that hit as a b.s. call.

One of them called it an outrageously biased call.

I love reading the comments of fans from teams we just beat.

The blindness of fans sometimes is perplexing. Not only did Peppers have a blatant helmet-to-helmet hit, where he launched himself head-first, Briggs also hit Rodgers in the helmet with his hand. Two players "broke the rules" on that play, and some Chicago fans still think it was unfair. Wow.
