I'll just throw my list out there just to put it on record
Elite
1. Peyton Manning
2. Drew Brees
3. Tom Brady
4. Brett Favre
Outlook: Don't care what order you take em in. These are the elite guys. Their clutch, they elevate the players around them and their talent is impressive.
Upper Echelon
5. Aaron Rodgers
6. Phillip Rivers
7. Ben Roethlisberger
8. Tony Romo
9. Matt Schaub
10. Donovan McNabb
11. Eli Manning
Outlook: Some of these guys are lacking signature wins. In the case of Roethlisberger, he has everything the elite guys have, but his off the field shenanigans are unacceptable. Yeah, that counts today. Overall, you have guys preparing to break through into that elite realm and at the backend; you have guys on their way out of the upper echelon. It's just a matter of when this group begins to separate and go in different directions.
On the Cusp
12. Matt Ryan
13. Joe Flacco
14. Jay Cutler
15. Kevin Kolb
Outlook: My pick for player of the decade will be Matt Ryan. I think he's going to be huge for along time in Atlanta. I've seen enough from Kolb to think he's going to be a pretty good player for along time. Statically, I think he'll be better than McNabb.
Once Upper Echelon, now just a game manager
16. Carson Palmer
Outlook: Injuries have changed Palmer. He manages the game very well. Not the player he once was though. At one time, he was Aaron Rodgers. Just remember that. You never know what can happen.
Replaceable
17. Davis Garrard
18. Jason Campbell
19. Matt Cassell
Outlook: Like the title says. These guys can be replaced.
Overachiever
20. Kyle Orton
Outlook: I dont get how his teams dont have losing seasons.
We'll See
21. Vince Young
22. Matthew Stafford
23. Mark Sanchez
24. Matt Moore
25. Sam Bradford
26. Josh Freeman
27. Alex Smith
28. Chad Henne
Outlook: I believe the jury is still out on quite a few of these players. Vince Young could be Randall Cunningham, but I'm not sure he gets it. Stafford is overrated IMO. I like Sanchez to have a nice career, but we'll see.
Done IMO
29. Matt Hasselbeck
30. Jake Delhomme
Outlook: They should go the Mark Brunnel route and be a backup.
Really! Really!
31. Trent Edwards
32. Matt Leinart
