Not much wrong with that list. I know I wouldn't trade Rodgers for any of the guys above him though. I might move Rivers up to 4

I would rank them by their QB rating. Faver is 14th and Rodgers is 1st. Just 'cause I know it drives Faver fans nuts.

There is something fundamentally wrong with the QB rating though.

Example:

Quarterback A throws 3/3 for 9 yards and the team has to punt.

Quarterback B throws 1/3 for 60 yards and the drive keeps going.

Quarterback A has a higher QB rating.

That's because statistics are merely "evidence", not fact. To be used, evidence must be weighed, put together with other evidence (as you do here), interpreted.

As long as we remember that QB rating is merely evidence to be weighed, instead of the fact to be determined (i.e. whether quarterback A or B is "better"), it's fine.

I see this all the time. People treat numbers as "objective facts". Almost always, they aren't anything but a particular kind of evidence.

Numbers don't "give" us a conclusion. Our interpretation of their importance does.

Sanchez = Flacco two years removed..

Sanchez will never be an elite QB IMO... but he will not hold the last position for long.

At least Flacco has a cannon arm. And this year he's got some decent weapons too.

Sanchez = Dilfer. At best.

That makes sense. It's QB Rating, not QB with team rating. That 60 yards doesn't mean the drive keeps going. With the inaccuracy, the next pass could be picked, more likely to happen with B than A.

QB A is west coast offense.
QB B is more raider'esque offense.

The QB Rating is whack though. I won't disagree there.
