Totally - I don't think he was planning on having to carry the whole team on his back. Take away Woodson and this team is a woeful-looking 0-2 club.

Losing is never acceptable. Losing at home is pathetic. But, I would prefer they got the stinkers out of the way early, stay in contention and be playing their best football at the end of the season. I'll wait another couple of games before getting panicky.

The only problem with looking at it this way is we won't be facing the Rams Browns, Bengals, but more like Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Arizona
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

All teams that we will have to beat anyway if we want to make a play-off run. Anythign can happen. I think that the Bears and Bengals both proved that last night.

There are some kinks here and there, but apart from the O-line, the team overall wasn't that bad. The defense just had some huge gaps and failed responsibilitie (I think). Especially with both Rouse and Bush in at the safety position. Some early defensive conversion struggles. Maybe the huge playbook is getting up with them. They obviously didn't have to worry about that in the pre-season.

Whatever the reason, they looked out of sync. Especially if you look at the pre-season games and week 1.

The only real problem we have on this team is the one that has been talked about tons of times already, the O-line.

Well, how many short fields did those turnovers give our offense? If I'm recalling correctly, at least a couple of the - what, four - touchdowns have come as a result of a short field provided by the defense's turnovers. I credit him with 14 points, yesterday's game.

Not saying Rodgers/Jennings didn't have a lot to do with it, but without the turnovers perhaps that play doesn't win the game, but only makes it close?

The record or this loss really doesn't bother me..

Getting our collective asses kicked along the line of scrimmage on the offensive line for two straight games does.

A emotionless defense does.. probably the most disappointed today with this aspect... oline I sort of expected.. not a "flat" defense past Woodson and Matthews.

This sums up our situation perfectly. I'll add that we stole a W from from Bears as well. Realistically, we're 0-2 right now. Any hopes I've had for a good season are officially on vacation with our O line.

True - I'm giving him too much credit for the Bears game. That was a good-to-great effort from the whole defense. I'm going to stick by my assessment when it comes to the Bengals game, though - he was one of maybe 4 guys who looked ready to play that game.

knowing the scheme does not beat executing the scheme.

The sixties Packers ran sweeps. They knew it. The defense knew it. THe crowd knew it. Hell, even the Russians knew it!

But nobody could stop it.

Be good at what you do. Do it. then do it agian.

AMEN, trippster! focus & execute - that's what these guys get paid to do! and whoever said woodson looked pissed - i agree! he was all OVER the place! i think he felt like it was all on his shoulders. i was hoping he'd fire up the rest but it didn't happen.

oh & can anyone remember the last time we could say "boy, our oline is great & our running game is awesome"??? i can't for the life of me remember thinking that & i've been a fan for 35 freakin years!!!

No excuses for this loss. We pretty much got beat in almost every facet of the game yesterday. That being said, I'm not going to throw in the towel after one bad performance.

I think how we come out and play against the Rams will give us a good indication of where this team really is at. They know as much as anyone they need to come out and have a good performance as the Rams are still a pretty bad team.

I'm hoping after these two games though that Thompson is strongly considering picking up the phone and getting Tauscher back in here. He might not be ready to go right off the bat, but it wouldn't hurt to have him finish his rehab with the team in hopes we could possibly get him back after the bye week. Guys like Dietrich-Smith are probably going to be inactive most game days anyways, so cut one of these inactive reserves and get Tauscher in here and ready to play. He certainly can't hurt imo.

I ran into Frank Winters (Bag 'o doughnuts) and he said they are talking to Tauscher.

Games like Sunday are good for Tauscher's future! And his chances of retiring a Packer.
