I'm totally puzzled by this continued insistence that Hoyer's agent used this stuff at all? Where is this coming from?
The Packers link to Hoyer came AFTER he'd signed with NE. So, the idea being floated that his agent used it for bargaining is a non starter.
We were interested. Can anyone just deal with that? We weren't interested in him in the sense of Jerod Powers, and he wasn't of interest to backup Hundley. He was of interest because Hundley has been terrible and org sees season slipping away. Org may actually do something if Hundley bombs again tonight. Hello, Romo?

If you found out today that GB called TJ Watt to draft him and he lied about being injured so they would not draft him. It would be silly for you to say, TJ was drafted months, there's was no reason to lie. But, this is what exactly you're doing, probably unconsciously, to avoid a fact that doesn't fit your narrative.
The agent rumored TO BELICHEK that GB expressed interest in Hoyer, BEFORE Hoyer signed. It's believable right? The agent doesn't want this to hit the press before the signing because he knew it was obviously false and GB might publicly debunk it to protect their young QB. Then the agent to make up for the loser contract Hoyer signed, leaks to the reporter that his client had more interest than just NE. Then you learned about it later, after the deal was done; just like you would have learned about the TJ watt call AFTER it happened.
And the agent may not have been totally lying, GB probably made a due diligent call to schedule a work out, like they do with dozens of cut players each week.
The fact that Hoyer signed for peanuts in NE PROVES that GB did not have serous interest. If Hoyer got 3 years 24 MIll, 10M guarenteed, GB might have been seriously interested but didn't want to pay 16M for 1 year; or 22M for 2 years.
