Went to a bar in Franklin Wisconsin last night to audition for "Franklin Idol". I guess this is the 7th year of the contest. There was no charge to try, so i figured why not? I sang 2 songs, "Heaven" and "Folsum Prison Blues". I think i did pretty good. But judging by the ones that tried out last night, there's some great competition.
I will find out the 25th if i made it to the final 15. The "Sing off" is at the Franklin Civic Celebration, Saturday July 3rd, at 2pm.
They pay out for the top 3 places. $500 for 1st, $250 for 2nd, $100 for 3rd. I'd be thrilled to even get 3rd. But like i said, some REALLY good singers.Wish me luck!!!

I REALLY would like to do well. It really impressed me the kind of talent there is in our "backyard". One girl had it all. Short, pretty, and good voice. I'm hoping there is at least ONE woman judge......or I'm screwed!!!LOLOL!!!
A guy (who i THINK was Chinese) was really quite good too. So i have my work cut out for me.
I bet i will be the oldest person in THIS contest, too.
But i figured you can't win if you don't at least TRY. Right?
So i did my best.

The only way my autograph would be worth anything is if it's on a check.

But i was just notified that i made it to the finals. So now all i have to do is WIN.
(Easier said then done, i'm sure!)
