I don't think it's as bad as you think. I seriously think if we fix the pass rush, everything else will fall into place. The secondary will start tackling better and our morale/swagger will be improved many times over.
But I STRONGLY agree with you that the #2 QB is the least of our concerns right now. It's so low of a concern that it's even less than fixing the running game.

First... we have a solid starting group on the offensive line.. last season we still had questions on the left side.
On the defensive line I see a much better rotation... which will in turn take more heat off the edges consistently.
On the edges.. we now have two blue chip type talents.. in Perry and Matthews.. and I think at least a bit more depth overall.
While the secondary IMO regressed from TC 2011... here we have way more questions with the loss of Collins and Shields and Williams coming off regressed years. Williams shoulder bothers me.. I think Woodson will be Woodson.. but CB play is a concern.
I think by the second half of the season.. Hayward and House, if healthy, may shore that up... but will we have lost our confidence in the unit by then.. or I should correctly state will Capers have lost the confidence in the group and shell up some.
Still doesn't change the fact that this team isn't as stout as some make it out to be.. we have alot of growth and work to do.
We have a offense that is talented enough to win it all.. but that is far from a #1 seeded team.
