So is it Peprah

The coaching,

or the scheme.

Not saying that he isn't doing a good job and I'm not expecting him to shut out an elite team, but I'll wait untill we beat some teams in that last stretch with Atlanta, NYG and the Patriots. Those are the games that I want to see our defense step up and not get carried by the offense.

Which has no chance of happening the way our offense is playing now, anyway.

As to Peprah... He was a pleasent surprise. He was cut from both the Packers and the Falcons for a reason. He just wasn't cutting it. I guess that Ted's manlove for his own draft picks is paying off this time, which is both a good and a bad thing.

Sure, the Jet's were struggling that game but it can't be quantified how much of that was due to our defense. Perhaps the WR's were hearing Peprahs footsteps when extending for a catch, leading to a lack in focus on catching a ball?

No one's expecting us to shut out teams often and that will probably be the only time this year. However, our defense is playing good enough to make us competitive each week at the moment while missing some key players. The main aspect I need to see stepping up is our offense.

He was as close to a draft pick as you can get, getting cut by the Giants in TC and getting signed by the Packers.

They've stepped up so far. I'd just like to see them do it against better offensive teams and on a more regular basis.

Do you remember the greatest game from last season? 17 - 7 win over the Cowboys. We absolutely fell apart the weeks after that against both the Steelers and Cardinals.

And no, I don't think it had to do with Peprah's footsteps. It's because that offense has a brick hands guy in Edwards, Cotchery who isn't a stranger to dropping balls (especially this sunday) and Holmes who just came back from a 6 week suspension and who obviously wasn't up to his normal speed.

Then you have the most overrated QB in the league in Sanchez. He had all day to stand in the pocket on most plays and couldn't find an open man to save his life.

And you have to admit that we were quite lucky with those two bogus turn-overs. As much as I hate to admit it, those were not interceptions. One of them wasn't for sure. The Williams one is pretty debatable, as well.

So the Jets running game isn't in the elite group of the NFL? The Jets didn't come in with a tie for the best record in the NFL?

Dom, staff and players didn't force the Jets out of their comfort zone of pounding the rock and forced Sanchez and his merry band of receivers to beat us?

That is my point, Dom took away their bread and butter and put his unit into a position to succeed by forcing the Jets to pass the ball.. what a defensive coordinator is suppose to do.

It is rare defense that is to dominate and shut down both the pass and the run in a given day.. The Packers shut down the run of the Jets and rolled coverage in the passing game. He made the right call and shut them out.

The williams pick was a clear INT, watch the replay there. Would it have been overturned if the call went the other way? Maybe, but i think it was pretty clear. The Woodson pick was less clear, it certainly would have stood if it was called a catch, or as it was, an INT, there just wasn't great evidence there.

Regardless, both of these plays never happen if their WR's can hold onto the ball throughout the catch. I dont really see a reason why having the ball for a millisecond is reason enough to rule a catch, it should be a live ball until possession is clear and the player is down, in both cases, the players were fighting for the ball before and as they hit the ground, and in both cases, the GB CBs won.

With both of these plays, the CBs were in on the "catching" aspect of the catch, they didn't run over 3 seconds later when the WR was on the ground, hit them, and then take the ball away.

So it's not enough to shut out one of the best teams in the NFL. Apparently they have to shut out one of the best teams in the NFL IN A GAME WHERE THE OTHER TEAM'S OFFENSE DOES NOT MAKE ANY MISTAKES. Or maybe you could tolerate a few mistakes.

And I'm not sure who you know that Charles Woodson's interception was "bogus" considering that we had no camera angle that showed what happened. As for Tramon's, it was clearly explained on TV by the former director of officiating. They were both close calls that went our way, rather than "bogus" calls.

And the reason Mark Sanchez "couldn't find an open man to save his life" was that the receivers were covered! I know that Sanchez did not see a wide open Braylon Edwards on one play, but that was only one play. It happens!

Our defense just played the game of their lives and you're still bitching about them. Sure, the Jets dropped a few more passes than they should have (though there are several dropped passes in almost every game, by the way), but that does not negate the performance of the Packer defense.

Anyone remember Al Harris's "non"-int a few years ago in the loss to Dallas? Very similar type of play, only it went in Dallas's favor. Not "bogus" either way, just controversial.

Not trying to single you out here, but why is it that once the Packers play another team well that team becomes crappy? Can we not give credit to the Packers for forcing some tough-to-catch balls, or harassing the receivers and forcing those drops?

I'm asking: Why can a team or unit be considered good* until the Packers best them, and then afterwards they're not good? I don't get it.

*I'll concede that the Vikes offense has indeed been playing below their talent level all year.
