Okay, what's the deal with this guy? I keep hearing that he's doing good. I must say when we got Anthony Smith back I was expecting him to start right away.

Is Peprah really doing good?

He played great the last 2 weeks he made that key hit on Dustin Keller or Jerricho Cotchery I Forget and knocked the ball out of his hands that was towards the end of the game.

He sure looks good to me. He is a much more physical player than Morgan Burnett. He is a better hitter and tackler. He doesn't seem like as much of a natural in coverage, but obviously the guy has been working his rear end off these past couple years, and lo and behold, he's looking like a pretty good safety, maybe playing about as well as Bigby in his better days, and in a similar style. Hopefully he can keep it up. Opposing teams will be looking for weaknesses in his game in the coming weeks.

He's been solid. Bringin' the pain. Not blowing assignments. I'll take that.

Peprah played a helluva game today. Particularly impressive was the play where he laid the hit on Cotchery downfield and jarred the ball loose.

He also did a nice job on attacking at the LOS and filling up blockers so the other guys could make the play. I found myself thinking on about 3 or 4 occasions today that Pep made a play. I don't imagine anyone will swoop in and take his spot with the way he's been playing.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

The thing is I like Peprah for two reasons: he hits hard and he shows a willingness to attack when tackling.

Compared to Burnett, I think Peprah is better for those two reasons. That is not to knock Burnett, who has really good talent, but he was a rookie who tried to make sure he did not give up a big play.

Peprah, on the other hand, seems to be playing more care-free. He's certainly gotten beat more than Burnett, but has also made some nice recoveries. Peprah has also guessed wrong wrong which gap the RB is going to go through, but he's also shown he can be a decent in-the-box safety.

I guess what I'm saying is that as opposed to Burnett, Peprah is doing the dirty work that frees Collins up to play as a more deep safety. I think he complements Collins real well, and is doing what Bigby did in 2007 in that respect.

I also think you have to give him love for being passable since he was basically our #4 Safety.

No.

Is it a coincidence that the past few weeks since Peprah has become starting SS, Collins has started to really resemble his probowl self of the past two years?

Personally, I do not think so. And this is because I think Peprah complements Collins' strengths particularly well, while also not being too much of a liability in pass D himself.

Peprah has been playing well. I only can think of one bad play and he was pretty much screwed on that play no matter what. Since then the only time you hear his name is on positive plays.
