It's not about getting another skill player. It's about getting better linemen in front of whatever RB they have.

Want to make a costly trade that might make a difference, go after Logan Mankins not some star RB.

We won't make the playoffs unless something is done about it NOW. (in my opinion)
We saw what our running game did Monday.....NOTHING.
Had we been able to gain yards, that would have opened up the passing game alot more.

It is not impossible and we haven't even made it through half the season yet to make such predictions like that,The running game could pickup I think Bjax will get better and better each week he starts in the system.I mean like when we get to the trade deadline and are running game is "very" bad like ranked 30th or 31st in the league we could make a move.

The thing is, IF someone such as Lynch could be had for a 4th round pick, I don't really think we would get anyone better talent wise than him in the 4th round. Sure, we might, but with Lynch one KNOWS the talent level. The only question would be character issues. If our front office doesn't think their locker room and team could handle the character issues and that he would be a complete flop, then I would have to agree with their decision. But if that's not an issue, then I think they have to go for it.

Of course, he's probably not available for that much and a 3rd would be about the highest I would be willing to go for him. I agree it's more about the O-Line. If there is a linemen out there with borderline elite potential for a 3rd or 4th round pick, then I'd be all about that as well. It's all about taking what options are available.

As for Mankins, the price tag is probably too high. A 4th round pick for Lynch isn't going to jeopardize the future in anyway. Anything over a 1st round pick just might have a negative impact down the road. If a deal like that was made I would hope it would totally pay off otherwise it wouldn't seem so wise. If a guy like Lynch doesn't work out it would suck, but wouldn't be a huge deal. Low risk vs. high reward.

I have no idea what the asking price is for Mankins, but if its reasonable and we can afford to pay the man then I hope it's being looked into.

I don't get why people keep referring to the offensive line being the main problem in our running game.

Look at what Ryan Grant did behind the same line.

We need a #1 running back...I was one of the people who placed my faith in Brandon Jackson and that was quickly taken away on Monday night.

We also have Bulaga (proven run blocker in college at least) and Lang (a proven run blocker). What would be the point of getting offensive lineman here if we ALREADY have quality offensive linemen?

I'm with Zero - Carolina could very well want to make that kind of a move. They've got depth they like (and that's the key; not what we Packers fans think of it, but how the Panthers think of it) behind Williams, he is getting older (let's not overdo the he's almost 30 talk, though - 27's a fair bit away from 30, and the guy hasn't logged 5+ seasons of starting HB load or anything), and he's in the final year of his contract. The 2-headed monster was possible because Stewart was a rookie - it wasn't going to last forever. Meanwhile, when the Panthers were really dangerous they had Steve Smith and a large possession guy - Muhammed, remember? Jones would be a very good compliment to Smith.

All that said, I don't believe this will happen any more than anyone else does. I'll believe it when I see it.

For the record, though, both on and off the field, Williams is far superior to Lynch. Given the choice, I'd go with Williams over Lynch in a heartbeat.

I found a Panther board and I joined and posted a thread to see if they have heard anything. They asked where I was from and told them here so we might get a few Panther fans coming over.

So far noone over there heard anything but some like the idea, and I also found a thread there that is saying there is rumors they are shopping Steve Smith around which could give this a little more credibility.

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)
