I get it, way too early, BUT it's a bye week, after two losses, and one or two points from being four straight losses. So what else is there to talk about?

Mainly talking players changes here, but I'm sure a lot think some coaching changes need to be made as well.

Also whom needs to re-signed or let go?

What position are the highest positions of need?

Packers 2024 FAs (starters bolded)
RB Dillon
TE Dugara
TE Davis
RG Runyan
OT Nijman
OLB Gary
OLB Hollins
ILB Wilson
CB Nixon
S Savage
S Ford

S Owens
S Leavitt

I'll go first ... Linemen linemen linemen.

Both offensive and defensive current schemes (which are very popular around the NFL right now, and good chance we might get someday again, even if coaches are switched) put more pressure on the linemen.

Right now, the OL lacks talent as a lot of the OL have not lived up to their draft status, and it appears (to me) Gute is not good at selecting OL.

DL, is alright in talent, BUT they can't seem to handle the additional pressure of the scheme helping the DBs and leaving them more on an island up front. And against better OLs (which we don't play that many of the best OL this year), against the better OL, they either need to get out of the scheme or additional dominant player.

Also, the defense scheme needs S and slot CB... improvement, to help the middle of the field.

And the offense needs more TEs/FBs as the scheme is based on versatility of having multiple mid-sized bodies that can do multiple things. Right now, we just got Musgrave. Though Sims is showing some potential, and three of them are rookies with possible potential to grow... but... Gute's draft history with TEs and 3rd round picks isn't pretty either.

But mostly linemen.

Kinda hard to fully read Love with a poor OL. But it seems like his mind is pretty good, but his accuracy is iffy. Of course, I think some of that is young receivers not being on the same page as the QB when they need to read and react to the defense.

I’m not judging Love.
I’m thinking salary cap and Gutey’s past actions to keep the QB position stocked.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUT maybe that splurge in 2019 is what opened that window and by doing that we were already stretched super thin? Maybe in 2019 just steadying the course, make solid tier 2 (financially speaking) signings and draft would have been better?

Me?? Dodging questions? You been talking to my ex-wife?😀

I don’t entirely disagree with your read on 2019.

My point is a reload can go to a rebuild with a few things that are out of the GM’s hands. Injuries, free agency or a player forcing his way out (Adams) are things Gutey has to prepare for.

Although I’m with Beast give me blue chip lineman.

But yeah, he certainly doubled down and he certainly went in for those years, but he left some on the table.

You can argue semantics about all in, whatever. But when you consider what Packers did via free agency years prior, I it certainly falls within the realm of all in.

All in for the other 31 teams? Eh yoh probably got a valid point haha. But for Packers, yeah, the phrase fits.

Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
