both Rock, you pass up the best player on most peoples boards, and then you blow your whole draft but picking someone that would've been there in the 2nd round. No way in hell is Matthews worth 3 picks
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I will be refusing to Post in any thread that involves Ted Thompson i didn't think it was possible to hate him even more, but he proved me wrong yesterday. I am on the verge of becoming a Lions fan atleast they expect to lose and don't have the huge false hopes. Ted Thompson is the second coming of Matt Millen.

So you are really dissappointed Ted didnt grab crabtree at #9 ...?

What was worse his not picking crabtree or his large trade for mattews?

While I am not that excited about the raji pick at 9; I can see his reasoning ... besides very much needing a healthy big fat boy on the Dline. We have a solid WR core. I do agree thou that crabtree would of been more of a BPA at the 9 spot for sure then raji.

... I see you just answered my question also with rock's question ...

Well you and I am in the same boat then; frown with the mattews pick.

I will say this, it is quite possible that the things that you have been angry about will prove to be true. Perhaps. Though, if they actuall turn out not to be, if the quarterback that you dislike more than others shows his grit, and establishes himself, if he leads this team, would you even be able to recognize it?

If the draft picks we chose yesterday, whom were all very high profile, turn out to help our team greatly, will you eat crow? Or will you find another reason to show your disdain for our organization?

You dont like our draft picks, thats fine. Many others do. In fact, the Packers are one of the most chosen teams as "Big winners" in round one of the draft thus far. Im sure though, that you disagree with all of their assessments as well.

I hate a glass half empty attitue. Give the guys a chance before you pick apart their future NFL career. Or you could take the alternative and in your own words, become a Lions fan. You should hate yourself for it.

Let's face it, two of the biggest weak spots on the Packers last season were special teams and defense. Not so much the wr core.

I would have loved to see everett brown in a packers uni instead of clay matthews, but maybe he (brown) is better suited for a 4-3 defense.

many analyst say Clay Matthews will instantly make our special teams better, and I am all for that.

I like the Raji pick, I think he will make an impact next year for sure. This also allows capers to move harrell to de.

Cullen Jenkins, BJ Raji, Justin Harrell, that is some serious muscle on the d-line. Can these three guys stay healthy, only time will tell.

As it stands now, I think Ted Thompson made the Packers a better team with these two picks.

I just hope (crossing fingers) that our other Dline guys get healthy (not even counting harrell in this ...

Picketts knees, jenkins pec (last I heard is was still really bugging him), and then jollys law troubles (I like this guy he made some good plays last year).

I just watched the vids of greene, ted and the scout talk about mattews; most really like him (I noticed greene didnt really tout up his pass rushing skills) but said he could train him.

I'm still predicting our D ranks up in the top 12 this year ...

Jenkins is the guy I'm most hoping is healthy. I've been a huge fan of his for several years now. He's a potential Pro Bowler.

As for top 12 D, that would be sweet. In a weak NFC, could almost guarantee a Playoff win with a top 12 D and our O as is (was #5 in the NFL last year).

We have also upgraded the special teams. Matthews is a great special teamer and the fullback we took should excel there as well.

The Matthews pick also allows Poppinga to go back to special teams where he will bring value.

Our core special teams guys:

Hunter
Poppinga
Bishop
Quinn Johnson
Korey Hall
Bush
Pat Lee

IF.... we find a decent punter ad Crosby sharpens up a little, our ST should have a good year.
