I've read the same thing about Janis, but he's already been in the system. Kind of makes you wonder about him.

Ted Thompson has never [and rightly so] said a substantive thing to the press. What did he say at one of those draft PCs, I have no secrets, but if I did i wouldn't tell you....LOL

If Janis is not developing he'll stay 2nd string and when playing will play only one position 'cause they don't trust him to play others and if by now he cant play two, then he probably doesn't have adequate football acumen to play in GB's system.

You wanna know what TT's thinking, ya watch his actions or nonactions, not his words. If GB dont make a move, they're confident in Janis [or Abby].

But it's possible Ted Thompson decides he wants Jones, Wayne, Nicks, Parker or Collie; calls them and they all say NO. Then some will cry Ted Thompson did nothing, but he did all he could, we just wont ever hear of it.

It could be worse, fans could be pining to trade a late round draft pick for a former Packers WR.

But what about trading Fanor or swapping a pick, giving them our 6 for a 7. Moving back probably 10-15 spots probably wont even change the guy we would have otherwise drafted. If it did, we'd certainly get a guy in the same talent tier and position group.

Cap wise It'd cost us only 200K more for Jones than the salary of the 53rd guy. And hopefully 53rd guy makes PS. Then the only cost is the reps Jones takes from the youngsters.

The ONLY good thing from this whole mess is it allows us to not cut a talented WR - Pinkard now moves up to #5 unless you count Abbrederis. That opens the door slightly for White or Williams or Blue.

Let's NOT mess that up by going for some overripe player who chose to leave and is on the downside of his career.

Among the MANY options at Receiver, I wouldn't mind seeing our talented and athletic 3rd string QB get some work out there - maybe an occasional trick play, etc.

If Jones gets released, I would definitely bring him in because bringing him in won't hurt.

I absolutely would not trade any pick for him though. And you know if the Packers traded a 6th rounder for Jones, you'd hear someone saying "that 6th round could have been next Tom Brady, stupid Ted!!" and if it's a 7th rounder same said person will whine "that stupid Thompson, that 7th rounder he wasted on Jones could have been the next Donald Driver!!"

No situation will ever show the difference in methodology than this one. Ted Thompson will just sit on his hands and do nothing while Ron would've done something ASAP because he knew his team was close and he didn't want to squander the opportunity. Liking the guys you've got is fine in most cases...not sure it is in this situation but Barfarn has echoed what I've said...if he does like the guys he's got he ain't gonna do a thing. If he doesn't something is going to happen very quickly as it should.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Y'all stop picking on Uffda. Anyway, I truly hope Pinkard sticks around. I cannot put my finger on it, but something about what I have seen so far makes me think he has too much upside to try and stash on the PS. I'd feel better stashing a couple TEs on there and keep a 6th receiver.

Ripkowski and Hundley complicate keeping 6. Good news is our TE's suck so bad we won't be keeping any more than 3. We're going to have 3 QB's and 2 FB's.

Thinking Abberederis and Pinkard get cut and go to PS.

Cobb, Adams, Janis, 88 cent and White are the 5 we keep. Not thrilled with that group but I'm guessing now due to Nelson's injury White wins last spot just because he has been around for 3 years now...gives him big advantage considering how little experience we have at the position. Pinkard beats White if Jordy doesn't go down as he has better upside and fitment for this offense.
