As of now, it's looking like there's a chance that 1 of those UDFAs will make the team. They have 5 COMBINED starts for D1 programs that weren't even ranked in the top 25 last year. As for Pennel, who supposedly is the best of the UDFA group, this is what packersnews said about him this week...

Though the coaches at Colorado State-Pueblo liked Pennel, they thought he didn't dominate Division II like he should have. He finished 2013 with six tackles for a loss, three sacks, four passes knocked down and three forced fumbles, but he wasn't a full-time player because of the weight and conditioning issues.

As for Pennell, I haven't even seen him on TV, but apparently they think a lot of him. I think that had a lot to do with getting rid of Worthy for next to nothing. Hopefully, he is a mover and a tackler, not merely a space occupier - a Boyd, not a Pickett.

In the D Line especially, experience isn't everything. I'd much rather have talent and attitude. That's one reason I'm optimistic for this year. The other is the apparent change of philosophy exactly in the direction I have been calling for. If people want something to worry or be negative about, try ILB.
