I know most of the community here will call for Dom Capers head, and while I don't think he should necessarily be fired, today really made me think about what the man really has up his sleeves.

Joe Buck and Troy Aikman were right, Capers has been doing all he can possibly do with a lack of talent. It was already enough to have Matthews and Jolly on the sideline, but it got progressively worse with Sam Shields, arguably our best corner, and Mike Neal leaving.

When we had to re-align to the 4-3, they seemed to get a lot of good pressure against the Niners offensive line--and those guys are huge.

I'm not saying we should go back to the 4-3, but it should at least be a wrinkle. The Patriots run both under Belichick, and Capers was nothing but an advisor there before coming here to take over.

I know what I'm saying won't cause anything to happen, but I must say I liked what I saw when I saw it.

I would say we should go with an aggressive 4-3. We have the bodies. Matthews and Perry both could play 4-3 LB along with Hawk.

Nothing. I have not seen the 3-4 do anything. The DL disappears for 90% of the game. The LB come running in to the middle of the field to try and get the ball carrier and they leave outside contain go.

Give me 4 fatties to stuff the run and collapse the pocket any day of the week.

Actually, with Perry I can almost guarantee Nick Perry would be more effective with his hand on the ground.

RE - Perry
DT - Raji
DT - Boyd
LE - Neal/Datone Jones

OLB - Matthews
MLB - Brad Jones
OLB - Hawk

At this point going to a 4-3 makes sense from a simple draft standpoint. A majority of the league runs the 3-4 now and true players for it have become scarce. Thus we get stuck with an endless amount of conversion projects.

I think we have the personnel to run either and should run both.

But it's not gonna mean anything if Morgan Burnett is the last line of defense. He needs somebody worth a shit back there helping him.

Whether it's HaHa Clinton-Dix or a free agent, we can't "hope" for a safety. We need to find one right away. Give Buffalo the 2nd round choice they want for Byrd.

If the offense can learn and install different schemes and packages, I don't see why the defense can't.

This defense needs some sort of change in scenery.
