Porforis - my lifetime charity will be childrens cancer from here on out. But how does that relieve me of my tax burden?

The only thing the Government is good at is breaking your leg, handing you a crutch and then saying, "See? Without the Government to help, you'd wouldn't be able to walk!"

But does everybody have the same abilities as you? That's what is wrong with your line of thinking - you believe everyone is created equally and we are not. There are a lot of people not capable of your life. They need your help and if you are a true Christian - you should be more than willing to pay your taxes to help these people.

Now your point doesn't have anything to do with helping the needy and is just a statement that you need to pay your taxes? Yes, yes you do, thank you for clarifying.

The point is that paying a nonprofit charity that uses maybe 10 - 15% of it's donations to pay for administrative costs for the sake of helping those less fortunate is much more efficient than paying the IRS. The IRS divvies your money up amongst both charitable and not charitable causes across dozens if not hundreds of different government and psuedo-government entities.

Is this satire? If 48,000 Americans have been murdered by illegal aliens, the most surefire way to reduce that number is to reduce the number of illegal aliens, which he is doing.

P.J. O'Rourke is satire. And he's damn good if I may add.

That's not satire. I can't recall anyone referencing the President's full name in an attempt at humor. That's a big old attempt to scare as many people as possible. Stuff like that is fear mongering.

As for the "48,000" claim...give me an effing break.

I had a Tea Party guy tell me once that charitable organizations and churches should be put in charge of taking care of the needy and we could cut our tax bill in half. I asked how he new if the people running the charitable orgs and churches were honest. That conversation ended at that point.

The problem with our government is that they spend too much money on the military and Farm bill and not enough domestically and on infrastructure.
