Yeah but those hard facts by them selves don't mean one is better in a real team game like football is.

Because you also have to factor in Steven Jackson was the Rams offense for a while. Other teams game plans where don't let this guy kill us, make the rest of the team beat us.

Grant on the other hand (at least while with the Packers) has always had a pretty good passing attack around him which other team defenses focused on, which took pressure off of him.

Generally, the more running backs tend to be used, the average they put up, the more times in a game you run the ball with a certain back, the greater the chance he breaks a big one. This is the case with AP and its generally the case with Grant too, the more you give him the ball, the better he tends to do.

So, this idea that having a great passing attack makes it easier for a RB to look good, I really just dont buy it.

Being on a better team makes your individual stats look better. There is no comparison between Grant Steven Jackson. Jackson can also catch the ball, get around the corner, make people miss, has vision to actually SEE holes, can cut without stopping first, etc. Thing is, he was their only weapon. Teams could key on him to win the game.

That is why Capers developed the psycho package. If you shut down the pass, you win.

We did that with Peterson. Let him get his yards, keep defenders in front of him so he can't break one for a TD from 20+ out and shut down the passing game. We won both games.

It is hard to argue with someone who ignores facts. Like Grant's 40 time and top 10 production.
Grants responsibility is to produce yards. That is the only thing he is responsible for. He does it better than most. Anything else is spin.

It reminds me of all the trolls that bashed Rodgers because he didn't have the "intangibles". If you lose the argument on facts, you have to pull out feelings and impressions. Because they are way more accurate than facts.

It's also Ryan Grant's responsibility to run into his own lineman while totaling more than 1,200 yards rushing. 🙂

The most important stats to have are passer rating differential and turnover differential. If you are higher ranked in those categories, you are much more likely to win. As close as it gets to a guarantee in the NFL. Rush Yardage differential can be negative and you still have close to the same odds to win.
