I'll just say this: I would not be surprised if many heterosexual men think of Aaron Rodgers while making love to their partner(s).

in a similar way,the other day i was making love to my girl and they showed the highlights of the Packers/Colts game and i couldnt help but stop for a few seconds to see Rodgers highlights of that game...My girl got pissed and shoved me off her which was fine by me cuz now i can have all my attention on chico and his god like presence on my tv...

Right now,Rodgers is the most clutch QB in the league which is why people would take him over manning,brady,ect...He's ungodly on the hardest down in football(3rd),it doesnt get more clutch then that...Last years playoff game was just a sample for Rodgers...Now hat he has been there,he will conquer!

We didn't lose that game because of Rodgers, we lost it in spite of Rodgers. If our last QB played like him, we would have 3 more super bowls.

Either way I don't care about the Pats, but Brady has nothing to do with any of that. At the end of the day, I think its very hard to argue that Brady is not VERY VERY good.

"RedSoxExcel" wrote:

Sorry I bunked out of this. Brady is good and has been given all the accolades he needs ad nauseum.

I throw Brady into my systems quarterbacks category with Montana and Young.

Then you have the gunslingers like Marino, Elway, and Favre.

Then you have the highbred guys like Manning and Rodgers.

These are great arguments, but just arguing that one player has rings versus other guys cheapens the argument because some of those guys played on stacked teams, and others had to elevate their game just to get their team to the playoffs. Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson won super bowls, so much for that criteria.

Even a casual glance at Favre's performances in the playoffs the past decade and a half could lead one to the reasoned conclusion that the Packers could conceivably have won more titles had it not been for the repeated meltdowns of their quarterback at the most inopportune times.

Favre is probably the third best regular season quarterback of all time, after Manning and Marino. A great postseason quarterback he is not and never has been. Every time I re-watch the Super Bowl XXXI, it becomes more obvious to me that the Packers won that night not because of Favre's play but because Holmgren kept Favre firmly leashed.

While I think it's impossible to quantify such a statement, one can't say his opinion is anymore false than your possible counter to it. It's just an opinion. None of us really know.

Edit, before you pick on my choice of words, I do not mean that you are necessarily one of these "people" mentioned below.

I love how some how people only look at one of side of the coin on the whole Favre playoffs thing.

What if we had a defense that could stop a 4th and 27 against the Eagles?! 4th and 27! Not 4th and 15, not 4th and 20, a 4th and 27. Don't you think we would have likely won that game if we had stopped a 4th and 27.

What about Super Bowl XXXII. Favre threw 3 TDs but the Packers D allowed 157 yards and 3 TDs down to TD. Don't tyou think that we would have likely won that game if we could stop TD?

What about the 49ers-Packers game where Favre gave the Packers the lead with like a minute something left. And some how our defense gave up a horrible drive that ended with Young to TO? I'm pretty sure we would have won that if it wasn't for the D.

Or even the Falcons-Packers game, people keep blaming Favre for it. Favre was a BIG part of the problem but VICK, yes VICK DESTROYED the Packers D, we were NOT winning a SB that year with that D. But people only have selective memories or they never watched those games and look at box scores. Even go to the play by play on NFL.com for that game and you'll see how much Vick destroyed that D.

It goes both ways, Favre blew really good SB possibilities (the Giants-Packers 2007 game) but there were SB yeras were Favre was fine and others blew it. Namely, Super Bowl XXXII and the 49ers-Packers game. I really feel people over-state how good Packers teams were.

Just like Rodgers, yeah it sucks we lost that game against the Cardinals on that play where Rodgers missed Jennings in OT but in the grand scheme, we were NOT winning a SB with that defense.
