Most RB's get a lot of yards in "junk time" when the game is over. That's part of their job: killing the clock and putting teams away. We have an RB who can do this, and now it's being counted as a negative.
And God forbid if, as Packer Traxx speculates, Grant broke off a 20-yard run during the Arizona game that inflated his YPC. We wouldn't want THAT to happen now would we? One of the biggest (and most legitimate) criticisms of Grant is that he does not make enough long gains, but if he does get one some fans will use that against him by saying that it inflated his YPC.
Let's face it: Grant is a very good RB. Not a superstar, but easily good enough to be part of a championship offense.
