I think something that is rarely talked about regarding Grant (and many other RBs) is the quality of their O line. Last year was frustrating because Grant would run 3 maybe 4 yards at a time, which isn't bad but isn't very exciting. But look at how horrible our O line was in dealing with pass rush. Is there any reason that same O line should be expected to be great at run blocking? They were pretty horrible over all, IMO. Hopefully the run game (blocking) will improve this year as well as defense of the QB.

My beef with Ryan Grant is when he runs with his head DOWN and runs into his own guys with an open lane available. Hopefully his martial art or whatever training helps his vision and balance.

What I got from watching Grant was that he would go down with arm tackles.

It's not about 'gaining yards' actually. It's about gaining FIRST downs and TOUCH downs.

And how much of his 'precious yards' were during junk time when the game was over?

#2 in rushing yards but #1 in running into his own players, going down when looked at, and #1 at pissing me off! RABBLE!

Don't get me started on him!

It looks like you did a good job of getting yourself started on him, lol

Most RB's get a lot of yards in "junk time" when the game is over. That's part of their job: killing the clock and putting teams away. We have an RB who can do this, and now it's being counted as a negative.

And God forbid if, as Packer Traxx speculates, Grant broke off a 20-yard run during the Arizona game that inflated his YPC. We wouldn't want THAT to happen now would we? One of the biggest (and most legitimate) criticisms of Grant is that he does not make enough long gains, but if he does get one some fans will use that against him by saying that it inflated his YPC.

Let's face it: Grant is a very good RB. Not a superstar, but easily good enough to be part of a championship offense.

I'm going to agree with Greg C. He's not fancy or nothing like that, but he is racking up the yards. He has a helluva air attack to help take the focus off of him too.

Our offensive line sucks.

Grant runs hard.

The o-line sucks. That is (mostly) why runs he up their asses.

They suck.

Suck, suck, suck, suck.

Fire all of them.

Grant runs stronger than given credit for.

Our line sucks.

I think they might have FINALLY fixed it. We will see.

In the meantime, until proven otherwise, our offensive line

SUCKS.

Daryn Colledge should be taken out back of the Don Hutson center and shot.

The sooner Bulaga goes in for ole' / penalty / whiffy cliffy, the better.

Our offensive line should all be shot...well, maybe not the right side, but go ahead and shoot the left side...

Shoot Barbre too.

Grant is good, is what I'm trying to say.

Grant has become one of my favorite players so i have been focusing more on his game. People always talk about how he isn't the same back that we saw in 07 when he put up crazy numbers so that got me curious on what could have changed. So i went and looked at many games from 07, 08, and 09. I came to the conclusion that in 08 even a midget couldn't fit through the holes grant had to get through. Then in 09 it got a little better but Grant still didn't have the type of holes he had in 07
