While I suppose Childress must get credit for helping build the team, I have to think that a coach with that kind of talent better put together some good seasons. I mean, c'mon, they are loaded top to bottom essentially. If any coach flopped with such a roster they would see the door quickly.

I agree. And there's no denying that Chilly doesn't have high standards for the next season. Even if he doesn't, the fan base does. I mean, there's only one way to do better than last year, and that's actually MAKE it to the big game. There's no doubting going 12-4 is a good season.. but if it's a continuance of one and dones in the playoffs.. then he'll be on the hot seat. But, that's down the road. Right now, Childress is sitting pretty. lol

I agree, and so does the front office apparently. I can't help but wonder how long he would be around if it wasn't for Favre though. I'm pretty sure he would have been sitting in 2nd place in the NFC North and still no answer at QB. I know that he went out and kissed ass to bring Favre in so he gets credit but beyond that I don't know. Favre took that team to another level which really isn't saying that much considering who he was replacing.

But bringing in Favre bought him a few more years minimum that's for sure so I guess it was a good idea, for him at least.

Hmmmmm am I missing something here but didn't the Vikings win the division the past 2 years and one of them was a mix of qbs?
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Of course they did, that's pretty obvious, lol. I'm stating that I think the Packers would have won the division last year without Favre Qb-ing the Vikings. Just my opinion.

That's a great question. And one obviously we really can't dive into much because of all the variables that could sway one way or another. I know the Packers were nipping on the heels of the Vikings pretty much the whole season, one game lost to the Packers last year, and the playoff seedings would have been COMPLETELY different.

Yeah, definitely. I think unless the Vikings solve their long term QB issue soon the Packers will surpass them VERY soon. If not this season then definitely the next. Their window is closing on some key positions. They have time to fix most of them but they better get to work.

I'm still glad the Packers moved on from Favre. I just think it was time. However, the man sure is annoying when you put him on such a good team!!

Vikings signed CB Lito Sheppard to a one year deal.

I wish we had signed Lito.

Vikes get an asterisk for last year. They were 12-4*

8-8 plus 4 games played with a suspended Williams wall that they loop-holed in the court system with patently obvious bogus laws as applies to national sports.

We were 11-5 without cheating, so we won the division.

For far too long, people have taken it for granted that they could simply dismiss the Lions as losers by birthright. I'm pleased to see this is starting to be no longer the case.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
