From the list of Packers Unrestricted Free Agents, who would you hate/fear to see lining up across from the Packers on a NFC North rival team?

Why?

Cullen. He could hurt Aaron.
Overall long term Jones could have a longer, better career against GB.

Jenkins, because he is the best player on that list IMO.

Korey Hall, because that might mean that the Vikes are actually getting rid of Tahi.

I'll say Jones, just because Jenkins maybe has another year in him before he starts to break down. TT's uncanny with knowing when to cut guys loose. Remember Ahman Green?

Cullen Jenkins due to his pass rushing skills.

I voted James Jones. He is younger and has a ton of athletic talent that can help a team like the Bears for a longer length of time. Pair JJ up with the speedy players like Hester and Knox (include Olsen in the mix) and Jones can be a dangerous weapon.

Jenkins would be my second choice. He would be a short term help for a team but if he were to end up on a team such as the Bears, it would be cruelty to have him and Peppers coming off the line together in a DE/OLB type blitz.

When choosing a player, I think it should be considered the talent of the three teams.

What are the weaknesses of the Bears, Vikings and Lions? I don't think Cullen Jenkins makes any one of them three that much better.

With that line of thinking, I'd have to choose James Jones. I think James Jones makes a bigger impact than Cullen Jenkins, even though Cullen Jenkins is the better player. Lions, Bears and Vikings each have stout DL's already, but the same can't be said about each WR core.

Jenkins and it's not even close. Nothing I hate more than seeing someone come up the middle at my QB. With someone coming from the ends, a QB can often step forward and avoid the rush and get the pass off. From the middle, there's nowhere to go but back.

Jenkins would definitely give the Bears a formidable front 4; but it would also take away from what they really seek in free agency, which is a receiver. When Jenkins leaves, I hope it is to an AFC team.

Which leads me to a question: why do our ex-players want to go to our division rivals and stick it to us so bad? Is it because they love it in GB so much that they are so naturally heartbroken?

IMO.. it is the veterans that you see this from.. an mainly those that had a strong locker room presence.

This is a business.. and these are grown men that should know that the "turk" eventually comes knocking on everyone's locker at some point.. but it doesn't mean that such moves can't be communicated to these veteran players in a man to man setting and with a bit of a personal touch.

For example.. Cullen has said that the Packers never even discussed a new deal with him.. I probably would be a little jaded as well that the GM couldn't sit down or pull me aside and explain the Packers position in regards to this veteran player.

This is about the only criticism that I can actually hold for Thompson in his era here.. ineffective communication.

Yeah Pack I agree, Uncle Ted does not communicate well. I can give him a pass when it is the slobbering media sniffing around or the fans with their feeling of entitlement wanting to know the inside scoop. He can ignore them or hold a presser and not say a darn thing. But he should let the players know where they stand.
