LOL!!!

You dont want porky to leave out the q/b ( which I agree with you on, need to use them ) but you want to use a WR that was on i/r for 15.5 games???

We have NO IDEA how he would have performed..Since he was not on the roster..

and how in the heck does Moll, Colledge, and Spitz=Klemm, Dwyer and Whittaker?

"longtimefan" wrote:

So this poll was intended to ask if Taco Wallace and Jamaal Jones are better or worse than the 08' Guys? Well we really needed a poll for that?

Moll and Colledge are terrible. Spitz and Flanny cancel each other out and that's being kind. So it comes down to Tauscher and Clifton then or Now.

"dd80forever" wrote:

So your saying Whittaker and Dywer are better the Moll and Sptiz?

I think your over stating how many injuries there were..

chekc it out

For the most part ( almost every game ) there was Tony fisher, and Gado starting..If I recall Gado actually did VERY well..Leach and Henderson started all the games...

We were missing WALKER as the WR and that was IT

TE we had Bubba, Lee and Martin..with Martin and Lee getting 7 starts

defense? we had Kamp start every game, Jackson start every game, Jenkins and Cole starting every other week or so..KGB starting every game

LB Leon, Manning, Diggs and Poppi on one side..Barnett on other all 16 games

Secondary ALL the same ALL 16 games

Overstating Injuries..... We lost Ahman Green, Najeh Davenport, Tony Fisher, and Samkon Gado. Thats when we had to start Herron. That is 4 guys. Fisher came back however.

Then you look at WR. We lost Walker, Fergie, Murphy and Franks and Martin both missed time. That leaves Driver and a bunch of 4's and 5's.

Now tell me what 4th stringer started for us last year?

Not even comparable. Sorry

Porky - Yikes. I was saying '05 Green over '08 Grant. I take that back, especially you mentioning Green had the better OL.

Good arguments about Green vs Grant.

How many players were on the 13 - 3 team that were there on the 4 - 12 team? I thought Thompson did a overhaul?

I think it was just a point to say that we theoretically can get back to 13-3 fairly quickly with the addition of another draft of two, and / or free agents. No necessarily the same team, but similar with expected change.

I don't see how that's imaginable. We went from Sherman's demise to Thompsons players. Now we went 6 - 10 with Thompsons players and now were gonna make that same leap with MORE of Thompsons playesr? I'm missing the logic.

It's easier to improve from what Sherman had with Thompson than it is to improve from what Thompson had to what Thompson is bringing in.

Sherman to Thompson = upgrade
Thompson to Thompson = upgrade??

It was Shermans players that went 4 - 12. Thompsons players that went 13 - 3 followed by a 6 - 10. I'm not understanding this theory.

I'm hoping that our young team is getting wiser and more gooder. I don't want to end up putting holes in my walls this season. IF we have more games like that mother trucking POS Titan's game my house will be swiss damn cheese.

While the team certainly was different, it's not like it was an ENTIRELY different team. The foundation was still pretty similar. Signed a couple free agents and added a bunch more youth, both of which are possible over the next year or two again, regardless of whose "guys" they were. I do believe that's the point of this thread, that we can make the necessary improvements in the next year or two to get back to being a superbowl contender just as we did a few years ago.

Yes, hopefully 2010 Thompson > 2009 Thompson. I don't see how you don't get that logic. If this doesn't happen, well, we will more then likely be looking for a new GM! That will suck. 😞

Well if you want to look at logically, which I'm sure most don't, Ted Thompson took this team over in 2005, It could be seen this team Went from 10-6 to 4-12.

Now, I know Sherman had alot of responsibility for that but Ted did as well. The players Ted brought in like Whitaker, Coston, Klemm, Little, O'Dwyer, Boerigter, etc replaced some of the guys that were part of, or were brought in to replace the guys that contributed to the 10-6 year.

So what we get from this and other Ted teams is

He can take a 10-6 team and turn it into a 4-12 one
He can take a 4-12 on and then turn it into a 8-8 one
He can take an 8-8 one and turn it into a 13-3 one
He can take a 13-3 one and turn it into a 6-10 one

Do with that what you will. However picking the lowest number of wins and then comparing to the highest number of wins tells about 1/4 the story.

The complete story is the day Ted took over this team was 10-6 and as of Today it's 6-10. It's fact, set in stone.

As far as which team was better, I have my opinion and you have yours but continuing to spin stats like politicians gets us nowhere.

It's like Porky stating how Grant would have performed better behind the 05 O'line thus giving him the nod over Green, and then 2 paragraphs later stating how the 08 line was better because in 05 we had Klemm and Whitaker.

So the line was better in 05 when comparing Grant to Green but the 08 Line was better than the 05 line when compaing players on it? Makes no sense.

Honestly, it doesn't matter anyways. Since Ted has took over he has gone 31-33. In 4 years we are still not even favored in the division let alone the NFC or NFL.

Hahaha.. you're silly. How is that set in stone, if you're only factoring in the last year w/o him and the last year with him? If we go 11-5 this year he turned a 10-6 team into an 11-5 team. A year ago today he turned a 10-6 team into a 13-3 team. Two years from now it'll be different again. That's as un-set in stone as any measurement I can imagine.

By that logic, Landry should only be measured by his last year coaching the Cowboys, where he finished 3-13.

Thats the fact. It's in the record books. That is what I meant. All facts and stats aside thats where we are at. Thus for this reason it's "set in stone".

1 winning year in 4 seasons. Tom Landry had 20 CONSECUTIVE!

Ted hasn't had 2 consecutive.

All I'm going on is what I was told in 05 when I was complaining about Ted. I was told in 4 years we woud be in the Super Bowl and be some kind of powerhouse. That's not where we are and now it's "wait a few more years". It's neverending
