Walker and Green were better than our top WR and RB this last year. IF both of them were healthy, we'd have won more games for sure.

I said I would laugh AT the people who called for Thompson's head, not about the Packers having losing seasons. That would piss me off. But I'd be most pissed at the people who'd impetuously pressured for Thompson's firing, simply because "a losing seasons isn't acceptable in Green Bay," as if we're somehow immune from the vicissitudes that affect ALL teams. I think it's an idiotic argument.

Sheesh, Landry had 5 losing seasons before he went on his 20-season tear. Give the man some time.

I'm pretty sure lots of people are "giving him time." That's why lots of us have said this season is going to be very telling on where this team stands. If we have another bad season it very well might be time to examine things. Now, if we get back to playing good, disciplined football, then things are a lot different.

Lots of things such as the penalties, conservative play calling, quality of depth, etc, all ultimately fall on Ted Thompson . . . whether that's fair or not. It's just the way it is.

Landry is one example, but that's not going to be the norm. Again, that's like comparing defensive linemen to Reggie White. Often times extreme comparisons just aren't fair. If we have another losing season, when is enough enough? What is the time limit? I'm just curious.

Dodd, this is all I was ever saying. You can't keep saying "wait til next year"

That is what happens all throughout the 70's and 80's. I don't want to go through that again and if we get back to that mentality and start accepting mediocre play with a successful year or two thrown in it will happen.

We differ in opinion on Ted Thompson. People think I have an agenda because of the Brett thing but many here know I have been against Ted for alot longer than that. I don't believe in his ability to field the talent we need to win. I saw this early on.

Ted rubbed me the wrong way when he said "Offensive Lineman are easily replaceable" then let Wahle and Rivera walk and attempted to replace them with garbage FA and Rookies. He refuses to get off the money to put this team where it needs to be. You can say he signed Woodson and Pickett, which both have turned out well. Sadly, the never-ending youth around him cancel them out. One year of being the youngest team in the league is fine, 3 years is excessive AND does lead to the impression that someone is a little on the tight side.

The truth is we are 4 years in and Ted still hasn't replaced that "easily replaceable" O-line. Now we have Tauscher and Clifton on the downside of thie careers as well. Thats troublesome. Same thing with Brett.

Forsight tells you we had limited time with Brett, Tauscher, Clifton, Henderson, KGB, DD, Green etc. We replaced the players around them while slowly phasing them out. Now as they leave we get younger and younger and the battle further continues to be fought uphill. For every Nick Collins thier are 2 Cory Rodgers and Frank Walkers.

The future has to be the present at sometime. What I see is the future turning into the further future. I don't have an agenda against Ted. I just don't believe in his style and his record does nothing to prove my skeptisim otherwise.

4 years, we should be on the verge. I don't think we are anywhere close.

3 HUGE pieces of the defense gone at same time last year, 05 didnt have anything NEAR that

And that's a valid argument. I have my opinions about that matter and I believe that I think we're a better team then you do. However, I really do not think we have a realistic chance to win the super bowl this year. I think we have a few crucial weak links and they will show up throughout the season, such as the Jenkins injury last year. I feel like it's something that free agency could address but I'm just not sure if that's going to happen. That more than any other reason will likely be Ted's downfall unless things get back on the right track soon.

I mean, it would really be unfortunate if all his hard work and fielding a young, talented team does not achieve its potential because of a few, FIXABLE holes. You add a few proven, talented veterans on this team and it could change the whole swagger of this team, in a positive way. I guess that's just not the way it is though. I hope it works out. It still seems riskier to me then signing a free agent starter here and there.

There are 32 teams in the league. Every team can't be on the verge every year. It's illogical. Packer nation does not have some divinely bestowed birthright to perpetual postseason appearances.

We had Green out, yup, then fisher, then Heron, the Davenport....I GET THAT...

We had a practice squad player starting..I GET THAT TOO

but it was ONE POSITION....

The D last year was missing 3 starters at once..For periods of WEEKS..not just once game..

Put it this way.

In 05, missing Favre,Green and Walker, for weeks...not to good now is it?

Does that sink in now?

People like to compare us to the Steelers and the Patriots. The Steelers have had 1 losing season since the begiining of the decade. The Patriots have not had one in nearly a decade. The Colts are similar as well.

Teds had 2 and one .500 over 4 years. Thats not very Patriot Like. These teams have mastered the art of Winning and successfully Building for the future in the meantime. Ted's just building for the futere down and I've yet to even see the success part come to fruition.

Ummmmm. who lined up opposite DD. Was it Javon Walker? Nope, injured
Was it Fergie? Nope, Injured
Was it Murphy? Nope, Injured
How about Andre Thurman, Jamaal Jones

How many Games did Franks play? How about 10

Diggs missed 7 games. Robert Thomas missed 6

So we were not only missing starters on most skill positions on Offense we were missing backups.
