If you can stop the run without being in base the entire time then it happens less often. Or if you don't care if they run and just stay in nickel package.

Why fire Joe Barry, yes the defense played better this past week, but the scheme was still exposed a few times, things that we are consistently seeing. That is and will continue to be my issue with Joe Barry, his defense is consistently exploited.

1. Consistently plays in shell.
2. Consistently we have seen his scheme leave a OLB on a WR or WR1 of the opposition.

3. We have see consistently his defensive scheme play 8 to 10 yards off on the slot and edges when distance to gain is considerably shorter than that. Raiders first touchdown, ILB playing man over TE opposite side, and you leave the slot open for the quick slant.. this happens over and over. Week in and out under this DC. That is a free touchdown.

In fact, ESPN’s Rob Demovsky shared that Gray was so against the Joe Barry’s defensive scheme that he started doing his own thing with the defensive backs.

26 years Gray has coached in the NFL, highly doubt the above happened prior to late last season.

Sure, the defense only gave up 17 points this week, but the above has been consistent under Barry here and multiple stops. His scheme doesn't work, that is consistent.

The defense wasn't the problem on Monday but it sure will be when we play a half decent offense.

Raiders have scored at least 17 points in all games except one so far.

So yeah, the Packers defense isn't the Bills defense, but the defense did just as well as all the other teams the Raiders faced.

Actually probably even better, when you consider they had less offensive help.

This game was on the offensive failures, and if LaFleaur keeps taking shots at Barry, when the offense is failing even more than the defense, and it seemingly was LaFleaur decision to hire and then again keep Barry, maybe someone should start taking shots at LeFleuer. He's the one leader that doesn't seem to know what to do in new situations or hiring.

MLF response after the bye will say a lot about what kind of coach he is. Lets see if he makes any changes.

"The Green Bay Packers are spending $72.6 million on the offensive side of the ball this year. No other team in football spends less than $80 million. The defense is not that expensive, either: 19th in the league, at $105.5 million.

It's always important to see what the team management does, and not what it says. The Packers are the second-cheapest team in the league, and in the middle of what can and should be called a rebuild. You could also call it a youth movement or retooling, but it is what it is. They are transitioning to a new phase, and their cap structure makes it clear. But if the Packers are not spending and are in a bad financial situation, where did the cap go?"

Big spending loop .

I concur, Monday the defense didn't cost us the game, albeit, giving up a free touchdown on that easy slant didn't help.

But the OP asked why people are still calling for his termination.

4) But you play shell to avoid the explosive plays at the cost of giving some in the run game, but the defense under Barry doesn't do that well either.
