The fun continues!!! Let's entertain this. If an NFC team offered a 1st, 2nd and multiple 3rds, I'm sorry, but Packers snatch that and it's done deal already. Right?  If Jets won't give the 1st, and another team is willing to? Why wouldn't you do it?

Per Craig Carton: The 49ers have offered a first, second and multiple thirds.

Craig Carton was talking about it on his show. The Packers aren’t getting what they wanted from The Jets, so they talked to other teams and the 9ers sent a massive offer

Supposedly, it'd be 49ers 2023 second and third and a 2024 first and third. I gotta think if that was on the table, the deal be done already. Unless they're trying to pinch Jets for better deal.

I don't even know if I care that Aaron would wind up on an already powerful 49ers in the NFC compared to the pure schadenfreude value of screwing the Jets management at this point. I would love to watch the collective media destroy those New Yorkers.
F#ck around and find out, assholes.
itches. I don't even care if the compensation isn't that great, but I do believe the likelihood of Rodgers continuing to play beyond 2023 is far greater in SanFran, so would also tend to think contingent picks would have a much better likelihood of coming our way. At a minimum, it would be nice for this narrative to gain traction.

Do we know what the 49ers salary cap flexibility is? Meaning, how much money can they free up to absorb the ~16 million that would be needed for Aaron Rodgers?

Edit, yeah, 49ers can easily restructure enough to take on that ~$16 million lol (I laugh because I didn't think they'd have any chance and they got huge kick the can chances) → https://overthecap.com/restructure

In the video, I did not hear the guy mention any 2nd round picks... just multiple 3rd rounders.

And that's probably because the 49ers have already traded away their 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks... they just have three Comp picks in the first three rounds this year.

If 49ers are throwing in all three of those 3rd round comp picks, it might be more than the Jets, as based on current rumors the Jets are only giving up the future 1st round pick if they host a playoff game or make it to the AFC Championship game, which even with Rodgers they're probably not.

But if only throwing in two of them, then two 2nd rounders from the Jets MIGHT still be more valuable. Of course, I'm assuming the 49ers make the Super Bowl with Rodgers.

Not afraid of Rodgers or the Niners.

Byw, I believe Aaron could play at a high level for three more years, a couple more beyond that still at an above average level. Especially if he was "motivated."

It's surprising to see how much the Packer's have, though they did restructure a bunch of contracts already and I'm not sure if this accounts for Rodgers' upcoming hit when he's traded.

Basically, I'm saying I don't see the Packers reaching Super Bowl with Jordan Love during his year one starter, so it's not like Rodgers will be the reason why Packers lose. Could 49ers/Rodgers knock Packers out of playoffs? Sure, absolutely, but based on trends and history, year one QB starters just don't seem to make the Super Bowl. So, 49ers with Rodgers wouldn't scare me because I don't think Rodgers plays more than two seasons and by that time I think Packers and Jordan Love will be a Super Bowl threat. And if they aren't, then they are drafting another QB high in 2025 lol
