The big take away from here is Aaron saying he thought Davante would stay so he could play with him a few more years. This is a nugget to me because it indicates Rodgers is going to play at least two years.

He also is quick to point out that WR can flourish in 2nd and 3rd rounds. So, while some of you are freaking out because Packers didn't go stupid in round one, Rodgers knows how it goes.
• Rodgers says he, Brian, Russ and Matt are in a good spot. Notice who he didn't mention? Yeah, Mark Murphy, the guy I said from the start he has beef with. TAKE NOTE!!
  • Says offense didn't do their part in playoffs last year
  • Says he will PUT IN THE TIME to help the WR's.
  • Says defense wins championships.
  • Going for Nicholas Cage ConAir look
•
• Doesn't think there was a Justin Jefferson in this draft
  • Jameson Williams looks most NFL ready WR
  • Mistakenly says 2009 last time we had two 1st round picks, it was 2019
  • Not a lot of hall of fame guys come from first round
•
• Says probably not a lot of teams wanting to trade WR to Green Bay
  • Picks are usually late, no one wants to trade within Division, or Conference
  • Davante wanted to move on
  • Says doesn't make sense to pay someone instead of Davante
  • Doesn't think San Fran wants to trade Deebo to Green Bay
•
• Been in talks with Packers all draft
  • Packers had six WR with round one grade
  •
Rodgers knew Packers were high on Wyatt
No one that I see here is "freaking out." You wanted "some" to but you can't now pretend it is happening. At least it isn't here.

I actually saw in another thread that I am a horrible human being for praising Gute too much. lol. I guess I'm ok with him not trading up for Olave.šŸ˜

What I found interesting about what Aaron said about Davante is this: "He wanted my help in making the move to Las Vegas happen." Obviously Davante made Aaron aware of his desire to be traded to Vegas and asked him to give the front office his approval on the trade happening. Not that the front office needed his approval, but it certainly didn't hurt.

Aaron looked content and happy. Always good to see him enjoying his mansion in Malibu.šŸ˜

It's a slight on a weak team who needs a lot giving up cheap good talent for a WR, regardless of who that WR is, it was a mistake. When the Falcons traded all those picks for Julio Jones, I wasn't a fan of that either, but at least they had a good core team. The Saints do not have that.

I'm ok with AR and Murphy not seeing eye to eye. They don't have to interact on a daily basis. If AR and Gute and MLF are working well together - all is well.

Mark is so worried about looking like the bad guy if Aaron leaves, that he sticks his foot in his mouth every time the subject is broached.

Meanwhile, Gute, LaFleur, and Aaron are very skilled speakers, and get along splendidly with each other and the fan base. Funny how that works.

Funny thing is people (Media the most) want him to act like a GM when he clearly is not. Most organizations don't get a lot of sound bites from owners or presidents. I don't care if he speaks his mind or not. Life would be easier for him if he politely declined and deferred to Gute.
