Were there teams inquiring about Rodgers' availability last spring/summer? I suspect nobody called because it is almost unheard of for a team to trade away the reigning MVP.

It's impressive how people think in such shallow boxes. A five game losing streak and we all lose our collective minds, lol. It's incredible. Absolutely, incredible.

We bemoan no free agent signings. Then we stand on our pedestal and say NO THAT WAS WRONG SIGNING!
We decry the lack of going all in. Then the lack of salary cap space is used against the GM.

If you're gonna say the Packers are bad at drafting, just wear a sign that says you have no idea how the other 31 GM's have done.

Brian Gutekunst is not the problem with the Green Bay Packers. If you define some metrics, Brian will probably land somewhere between 4th and 8th. And as for others who like to just blindly and ignorantly point the finger to whomever is at the "top", it's not Mark Murphy either.

Ponder this for a moment. We all saw the decline in Aaron Rodgers and we can understand (at the time) why they drafted Jordan Love. Rodgers was at that age and showing those signs of decline. However, Matt LaFleur offense essentially resurrected Rodgers career and propelled him into back-to-back NFL MVP's. Yeah, I'm sure having the heir apparent also played a huge motivating role for Rodgers -- try to remember that when bashing the Love pick.

I wonder if Rodgers and LaFleur bonded so much that Rodgers has essentially ruined the LaFleur offense. 🤷‍♂️

How can this happen?

When Rodgers talked retirement, the Packers went into full recruitment mode. We love you. We need you. I mean, one hell of an indictment of Love's progress if you ask me. Then you offer him something like $150 million over three years, well, you're basically saying Rodgers -- you the captain now.

TL;DR → I think LaFleur extended Rodgers career, and I think Rodgers in 2022 ruined LaFleur as a coach, as a leader and as a player caller. Only way I see this ship getting righted is if Rodgers relents and shows a level of humility we have never seen from him.

Unfortunately, I forgot that Gute got an eztension along with LaFleur. Worse is it looks like the Packers may be rebuildinv over that entire contract. Its a bad season but it is hard to see the upside in the out years unless they put Love in and he can bring some life to the team.

I don't think anyone was on board with Joe Barry hire.

Imagine the uproar from this Packers fan base if this season happened how it has, and Aaron Rodgers was traded. My goodness, you all would be throwing pitchforks at 1265 Lombardi Ave so hard your arm would fall off. HOW DO YOU NOT RE-SIGN THE BACK TO BACK NFL MVP!!!

Matt LaFleur. Really? So, those three 13 win seasons are just dogshit because he's gonna have one awful season? Are we really this fickle and unappreciative fans? Or has losing to a one win Lions team really crawled up the butts of some so much they spew nonsensical stuff?

This isn't to say LaFleur skates without criticism here. I just ain't calling for his head. Not yet. I really do believe he's become more of a friend to the players than a coach to the players.

Rodgers has spoken a lot about relationships in NFL as what he cherishes. At times, it feels like he wants to win, but with his guys (Bakhtiari, Cobb, Lewis) getting their due. I'd say that makes him kind of a good friend and equally bad teammate.

I am with you, dyeah_gb, that there is little to no upside for this season. As I've said before, with HOW we lost the Giants game, I kind of lost all hope. Maybe something turns it around? Maybe we get guys back and they rock out? I'm just not banking on it.

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
