Sick of going for it on 4th down. Thats TWO of these games we lost that we would have won if we had taken the 3 points. Not difficult.

Not sure Aaron wants to win anyway. He looked good throwing the ball today, made it all the way down and then missed the throwing lane so bad he clanked it off a dude's helmet? Really?

Look like old school Aaron, until it's time to score. I'm not buying that. Thete's no way we lost this game legitimately. Way too many opportunities. We had to go out of our way to lose this.

Front office is tanking on Aaron, Aaron is tanking on the team. We need someone with balls like Ted Thompson.

lets see:

  • bad drafting
  • bad/wrong veteran signings[*]no salary cap space[*]bad play calling in both sides if the ball (where were the clever run schemes we saw v Buffalo?)[*]terrible execution by our best player over last decade[/list]= 3-6 with a sketchy future
  • Other than that the organization is solid and future is bright

We bemoan no free agent signings. Then we stand on our pedestal and say NO THAT WAS WRONG SIGNING!
We decry the lack of going all in. Then the lack of salary cap space is used against the GM.

If you're gonna say the Packers are bad at drafting, just wear a sign that says you have no idea how the other 31 GM's have done.

Brian Gutekunst is not the problem with the Green Bay Packers. If you define some metrics, Brian will probably land somewhere between 4th and 8th. And as for others who like to just blindly and ignorantly point the finger to whomever is at the "top", it's not Mark Murphy either.

Ponder this for a moment. We all saw the decline in Aaron Rodgers and we can understand (at the time) why they drafted Jordan Love. Rodgers was at that age and showing those signs of decline. However, Matt LaFleur offense essentially resurrected Rodgers career and propelled him into back-to-back NFL MVP's. Yeah, I'm sure having the heir apparent also played a huge motivating role for Rodgers -- try to remember that when bashing the Love pick.

I wonder if Rodgers and LaFleur bonded so much that Rodgers has essentially ruined the LaFleur offense. 🤷‍♂️

    How can this happen?

When Rodgers talked retirement, the Packers went into full recruitment mode. We love you. We need you. I mean, one hell of an indictment of Love's progress if you ask me. Then you offer him something like $150 million over three years, well, you're basically saying Rodgers -- you the captain now.

TL;DR → I think LaFleur extended Rodgers career, and I think Rodgers in 2022 ruined LaFleur as a coach, as a leader and as a player caller. Only way I see this ship getting righted is if Rodgers relents and shows a level of humility we have never seen from him.

Drafted 3 receivers, yes. A 2nd rounder (who can’t stay healthy), a 4th rounder, and a 7th rounder. To assume any of these guys would come in and be a #1 receiver is ridiculous. To assume Watkins would be a #1 is even more absurd, and they should’ve known Lazard is not a #1. So they knew going into this year that we had no #1.

Yeah they made some calls, but they didn’t offer enough for any of those guys obviously. Just calling isn’t enough.

The Packers offered up to a 1st for DJ Moore, per Ian Rapoport. That's hardly just "calling". They also believed they had a deal with Steelers, but the Bears 2nd was believed to be better than Packers 2nd, so obviously Steelers took Bears deal. Again, hardly just "calling".

I agree with the point that the Packers needed to add an offensive weapon. Absolutely. However, would it really make a difference on the season vs the loss of draft capital in the future? When 2-1 Rodgers said winning that way was not sustainable. He was right then and obviously proved right later. This defense isn't going to magically come together because the offense has another weapon. Special Teams won't play better because we have an offensive weapon added. The play calling MIGHT improve, but let's be real, Rodgers has directly or indirectly taken over the offense. And he's not on target like we're used to seeing.

Yes, I am aware trading for offensive weapon could help future, but the weapon would have to be signed through 2023 already seeing as we're already nearly $2 million over the projected salary cap for 2023.

It sucks, but really this season felt over with that Giants loss. It wasn't THE LOSS so much as it was HOW we lost the game. It just kind of felt like, yeah, this team can't handle getting punched in the face. Then the Jets happened. Commanders happened.

It sucks at mid-season it feels 2022 is all but lost.

The Packers biggest issues right now are (in no real order)...

~ Not being able to get guys healthy and to stay healthy

~ Very questionable or delayed defensive play calling

~ Offensive play callers playing chess with the wrong chess pieces... some of these quick throws are actually considered runs but we don't have the guys to catch and do that... or maybe make Jones a WR until the Ws get up to speed.

~ Lack of chemistry and players executing as one.

~ With the Exception of Adams, the Packers haven't been able to develop WRs since their Super Bowl win, which is the year they lost their great WR coach. And this basically goes for TEs too.

It's funny watching all the spoiled people that are pissed calling for all the names but the true one (yes some aren't calling him out) and that's Rodgers your at the 2 yard line and 1st and goal and you run RPO's and the Greatest bounces one of a DL helmet that had no chance to be completed. You call a trick play for the other waste of money and Rodgers buddy Bahktari and Rodgers isn't even close to getting it there but no running of the ball? Rodgers came right out and told you what they were going to do against the Giants, We can't keep winning by running the ball ( even though it was working) we need to air it out. Since that comment, we have lost 5 straight. I hate to say it but Rodgers needs to be benched and if Matt doesn't do it, then he should be looked at maybe being terminated as he has proven he lost the locker room and the common denominator is still there #12. He did it to Mccarthy and he is doing it again to Matt. Rodgers needs to pack it up or the team needs to pack his bags for him. Tell him you either retire or we will make you ride the bench while you are under contract, which would kill his Diva Ego.

If there was a team willing to give three firsts for Rodgers during the offseason and Gute decided to extend him instead, he needs to be fired andcwalked out of the building. He probably thought it was the no risk move but that has blown up in his face. Pack could of had the same record right now under Love and I would be okay because the team would have been clearly rebuilding. Instead the team completely sucks and hasnt even started the rebuild. That it is his fault.

This is not a hindsight thing. Look at the posts during the offseason and you will see plenty of us knew it was obvious to take that deal if it was actually offered.

Because Love wasn't ready, and Aaron was creating drama to extort the team.

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
