The way the NFL is set up is for one winner. The object of the game is to be the one winner. Anything less than that doesn't bring any satisfaction.

I can only assume that you are not a fan of the game if the only thing that gives you satisfaction is your favorite team winning the SB.

Here are a variety of things that bring me enjoyment:
1. Watching a well executed play
2. Watching my favorite team score a touchdown
3. Watching my favorite team win a game
4. Watching my favorite team beat a rival
5. Watching my favorite team come out ahead in a closely contested match
6. Watching my favorite team totally dominate another team
7. My favorite team wining the division
8. Watching my favorite team win a playoff game
9. The potential/excitement of new players every offseason
etc...

None of these alone mean the Packers will win the superbowl, but they do bring me enjoyment and satisfaction individually, not the same degree of satisfaction as winning the SB would, but again, happiness, enjoyment, and satisfaction are not binary concepts. The point at which I stop enjoying the game is the point at which I will stop following it.

But again, I seriously doubt you're being honest (with us or yourself) when making the claim that the SB is the only thing that brings you satisfaction. I think you're simply trying to convince us you've reached some sort of moral high ground where, because your belief is more "pure" you think your opinions should have more value than others.

I'm more inclined to believe the fan of a team that won only three games last season understands their team needs those 1st and 2nd round picks to build a core rather than adding an elite quarterback who is in his 30's. That's just basic common sense to me.

I'm ashamed that Packers fans, regardless of it being one or a handful, are wanting to shove off Aaron Charles Rodgers. Even more so that some are using PackersHome to dispense such atrocious garbage.

We were fortunate to have Brett Favre.
We are fortunate to have Aaron Rodgers.
Goodness we are beyond words fortunate to have had them back-to-back.

If you can't appreciate what Aaron Rodgers brings to the Packers. Please, go root for any number of about two dozen teams for a season and maybe we'll let you back in after you realize how ungrateful and unappreciative you are of the great fortunate the Packers have had at quarterback over the last two plus decades.

The others...not really all that enjoyable unless it ultimately leads to winning the Lombardi. Like was said elsewhere...the Janis catch would've been remembered as one of the greatest plays in NFL history had they won. They didn't so it's relegated to Randall Cobb's non catch when he injured his ribs....nice but irrelevant. That is what all those things on your list are if they don't lead to a championship save for #9.

Let me save everyone a little time here.

This thread, just like every other thread Uffda has dominated will be spun by him in the one final direction.
TED THOMPSON MUST BE FIRED.

sooner or later he will get there, so I'm just going to speed things up.

Ok we all get it.
Some actually agree with him.

That's fine, if and when it happens you all can come here Let us know just how happy you are.

Until then let's just see how many more threads Uffda will take over and keep hammering his only true reason he posts here.

We understand your perspective. It has been noted. Others may feel differently, and they are going to enjoy the game in whatever way feels natural to them no matter how many pages you write on internet forums or argue in bars. It's fine to state your opinions, but at some point, we get it. We don't need to read the same few opinions hundreds of times ad nauseam. Everyone enjoys things differently and different aspects of things bring them joy. That's the way of the world and the way it will be. Your way isn't right. My way isn't right. There is no right or wrong.

I've said in this very thread, I believe, that we're all different, but I want to endeavor to understand why someone believes opposite of what I do. Of course, believing as I do I refuse to believe that anyone who didn't really hash this out wouldn't come to the conclusion that me and some others have. I think there are some movements in America over the past few decades that have to do with some of the mentalities we see on here today.

I like to pose questions. I like to read well thought out replies. Yours was one such, Dodd. That's highly enjoyable to me, personally, where someone like Buck is a pre pubescent child with his inane commentary. I want to understand why you think that way because I'm not sure you really truly think that way without considering the other side of the argument.

Football games are played into February. The goal is to be playing that last game in February. Not playing in February is a form of failure no matter how fulfilling failing might be to you. I recognize as a failure and don't need to try to derive something out of failure that isn't there. It is failure. Sure, you're free to enjoy failure. You're free to enjoy 0-16, free to enjoy never watching a game and imagining what might actually be happening while you're not watching. My feeling is expectations should be the goal and nothing short is satisfying. Those who like good don't care about greatness as I said earlier. Those who love greatness couldn't care less about being good. That is the line of demarcation for the "strife" that the Dakotas and myselfs of the world bring here. Are you really going to fault us for wanting greatness? I would hope you could at least see why we find fault with the things we do but it appears you don't and would rather attempt telling us we're wrong just as you say you hate when we do it to you.

I haven't missed a snap of Packers football since 2005 and attend games whenever I can, but ultimately, it's just entertainment. It barely impacts my life when I'm not actively watching the game or reading/posting online.

Also, I'll leave the stress of failure up to those that are getting paid for the performance of the team (players, coaches, administration). That's their responsibility. I want the Packers to win, make no mistake. But ultimately, I have absolutely no control over their success and it doesn't pay my bills in any way, so it's simply not something I dwell on. I'm thankful for that. I know many take it much more personally, and that's fine I suppose, but I choose not to. I'll still enjoy watching great hail mary throws and completions.
