There was a piece on him back after he was drafted saying he was very close to the range where a WR won't be drafted. He ran 4.56 at the combine. He was the 15th ranked WR for speed at the combine out of 17 guys. Only 15 were drafted.

Hopefully, I can find the piece because I know you won't take my word for it...he was dangerously close to not being drafted at all due to his POOR, and it was POOR 40 time. This is an issue. You can say it isn't because you don't want it to be but he lacks speed just like Jarrett Boykin.

Yup...his hand size will always be the same as Davante's. 9 inches. Janis is bigger faster stronger and if they can build him into a real WR, maybe one day he'll be a six million dollar man like Steve Austin.

I'm not really sure what your point is on 40 times is? It remains as I said... guys who are paid a lot of money draft players higher with better 40 times. They have for years and it will be the same in the future. Pan the 40 all you like. You all would wish our skill players ran 4.3 instead of 4.5 or 4.6.

To quote Mike McCarthy "Stats are for losers". Unquote.

Never did quite understand him saying that until now.
.
The article says Adams could turn out to be a steal, not he is already a steal.

That will be determined in the next couple of years.

Davante moved right past Boykin who in turn surprised everyone the year before by taking the last wr spot.

The year Adams turned in was not spectacular, but he proved he belonged on the field.

The only way Uffda can continue his weak ass argument that Ted Thompson is not the man for Green Bay(which is all this is about), is to talk bad about any of the draft picks whenever he can.

Makes me laugh at the thought of Uffda trying to compare Janis to Adams when he screamed to high heaven when Ted drafted Janis.
Another wasted pick.

Whatever it takes to Uffda.

"Stats are for losers"

I now understand where Mike is coming from.

Mike McCarthy saying stats are for losers is grossly taken out of context. Let's not be ignorant here, stats have value as even McCarthy recites them often. I think even Ted Thompson recited a stat about undrafted free agents just recently.

The problem with stats is most grab a subjective parameter of stats to use for their argument rather than use them objectively. That's when they are useless. If I say no RB gained more yards on 3rd down on grass than Eddie Lacy in the last 8 games ... I mean seriously, that's awfully parameterizing the stat down to a very very specific outcome. One of which I presumably already know the answer.

Stats are not the argument, they are a cog in a debate, nothing more.

Adams would've been better with 4.3 speed, but it doesn't mean he's bad without it. Fitzgerald ran a 4.61 at the Combine and became one of the best in the game based on body control, sure hands and size. He'd been better with 4.3 speed, as well, but I'd have taken Fitz over 4.39 speed Lee Evans every single time.

I've seen Davante being compared to all kinds of receivers. Some that stood out to me were a poor man's Dez Bryant, Mike Williams and Michael Crabtree. They all have in common that their games are built around intermediate catches, getting YAC, attacking the ball, surehandedness and dangerous in the red zone. I think that's exactly what we'll see out of Davante in the future. And you don't need amazing speed for that.

Davante was not one of the WR's I wanted and I was shocked we took him and in the 2nd round. He was a guy who had a very tough profile coming out of Fresno. Some scouts had him as a 4th rounder. I would've liked him there.

As for the WR's drafted with the 4.6 and over 40 times...speed is more important for the WR than any other position. Davante was the 15th fastest of 17 WR's at the combine. He isn't strong. He isn't sudden. He can jump but I read he wasn't very good at jump balls because he wasn't strong enough. I don't recall him outmuscling anyone for a jump ball. I think the guy is Terry Mickens. He's a possession receiver. Those types are a dime a dozen and I wouldn't be using a 2nd for one of those. That is my opinion.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Yes , YOU go back and look, the ONLY player you said you thought was worth while drafting was Abby!

I forgot you post so much bullshit, you can't. Remember yourself.

It is too early for the author to say the Packers got a steal with Adams. We need two more seasons before such can be stated.
