Here is Davante Adams looking special in a NFL Playoff game. Something Jeff Janis has never done yet.

Yup...still talking about what I saw in St. Louis...what I'm talking about is reality based. I saw it.

The reality is that Janis had two catches the entire preseason. One on a blown coverage on a dig route against St. Louis, another on a nice fade route against KC. The KC one was probably better considering he actually had to beat his man and did with a clean release against press coverage. That's it though. Two plays on offense the entire preseason. During the regular season he had a whopping 16 yards more than you did.

You cannot objectively say Janis showed more than Adams last year. You might feel he has a higher ceiling than Adams and maybe he does. I happen to be excited about both. But this narrative that Janis has somehow done something special while Adams hasn't at this point is absurd.

Early reports out of OTAs have been good for both of them. Let's hope they both carry that into preseason and then the meaningful games.

You are right, though, Janis has done diddly. Davante has played and has a leg up do to that experience. Davante knows how to be a WR more than Janis does, at this point, I just believe Janis will get it and when he does he has a greater set of skills to offer than Davante does. I'm not sure how that can be argued against. The crux of the matter is will Janis get it? I think he will and when he does he'll have more of an impact on the game than Davante does. JJ's natural ability is unquestionable. He's in Julio Jones territory and Davante ain't close to that.

It's actually a lot more impressive than catching a pass on a play where nobody covered you and all the defenders were running the opposite direction then beating a safety to the end zone that's never taken an NFL snap and takes a terrible angle to begin with.

I think Janis is going to be good, maybe not Julio Jones or even Jordy Nelson good but still think he's going to eventually do things that help this team win. I just don't see how Janis even matters to this discussion though. Even if Janis goes complete beast mode that doesn't mean Davante Adams sucks. He did some good things for us as a rookie and showed some promising skills whether you want to give him credit or not, I just don't see any reason to believe that he won't also become a good player that does things that help this team win.

For the record, nowhere have I said Davante sucks. I have said he's not special and I don't believe he is...I believe he's a typical run of the mill possession WR in the WCO. Better than James Jones? I don't think so...James did some exciting things his rookie season. He was tough... had some drops, but he was a man.

Davante would worry me as anything more than a 3, at least for now.

Donald Driver is high on JJ. I'm high on JJ and have been. Vic So'oto and Jeff Janis are not comparable. So'oto didn't have any type of elite measurables. He played well in that pre-season game vs. KC. I loved the guy. He never did diddly. Janis may not either but his ceiling is, without question, way higher than Davante's theoretically is due to JJ's insane measurables that Davante doesn't possess.

Poor Uffda! Nobody understands that he rates elite athleticism over on field production. Adams was a very, very productive college player that had a good rookie season. Until Janis proves it on an NFL field, he's a track star; just another Renaldo Nehimiah.
