Whew, you had me for a second there!

With Jarius Byrd going to visit Saints, do you think that opens it up for Jairus Byrd to visit Packers?

it seems the Saints and Byrd would only meet if they had the ammo and desire to make a deal.

Just a little after 4pm on the first day of FA and almost all of the top FA Safeties have signed with other teams, except for Byrd.

49ers signed FS Antoine Bethea

Eagles signed FS Malcolm Jenkins

Broncos signed FS TJ Ward

Along with that, both DL discussed were also signed away, Lamarr Houston to CHI and Arthur Jones to IND.

C'mon Ted! Sign him! 3-time Pro Bowl Player, 3-time All-Pro, 2-time AFC INTs leader...

I'm glad we didn't go after Mike Mitchell (signed with Steelers) either since his only really productive season was last year playing behind the beastly front 7 of the Panthers. Clemons and Byrd are the only really good guys left out there.

Looks like Clemons may be headed to PIT steveishere. Ach, if it happens, it happens. Otherwise, we will be drafting a new S, and will be expecting him to start straight away. I just don't want us to go that route with such an important position of need. I'd rather have the best vet FA we can land back there...
