Yeah, and Byrd did that in only 11 games... I would like to see what this kid can do on a team with a chance to win it all. Should he come to GB, I think we would have that chance. I don't know how you could not want one of the best Safeties in the NFL on your team. ??? Figure too, it would more than likely make Burnett a better player, having another Safety of Byrd's calibre playing along with him in the Packers secondary.

Somehow, when we have 2 good Safeties, we are legit contenders and we win Superbowls.

I do want one of the best safeties on our team. I want to live where it never snows. I want to have swimsuit models around my luxurious pool. I want to be filthy rich. I want to never have health issues. I want world peace. Wait. You mean I can't always get what I want?

Signing Byrd would put all 4 DBs in the top 11 on our salary cap. Not wise.

We also win Super Bowls when we have a Hall of Fame QB. Shouldn't be hard to do that every year, right? Hope no one else learns our secret...

Resign Shields get Byrd, sign a mid tier FA LB and draft a D-lineman (Louis Nix) and that right there goes a long way toward fixing our problems. Even if Byrd takes too much money to sign the mid tier LB then you draft one. either way its a major improvement with just 4 moves.

I don't really care if we get Jones, and a LB and draft Pryor or Dix. Or sign a LB (Woodley?) and a mid tier S and draft a DL.

I don't really care if we don't get Byrd if we can get a top safety in the draft. I don't care if we don't get Jones if we get a good DL in the draft.

All I am saying is that we have 4 positions on defense (three now with Shields back) that need to be addressed and I hope Ted Thompson does not try to address them all with the draft or with mid to low level FAs (depending on the FA of course) Go after 1 blue chipper at one position (Houston or Jones may be easier than Byrd and if so I got no problem with either one of them instead) find a decent mid level guy for another and draft for the other in the 1st round.

At least 3 starters, possibly all 4 addressed and our defense will look much better.

Add in some beautiful cities like San Diego, San Francisco, San Luis Obisbo, some trips to the desert, and an agricultural mecca, and it's not too shabby. I'm still an Appalachian Boy, though. 🙏 🙏

Just a little after 4pm on the first day of FA and almost all of the top FA Safeties have signed with other teams, except for Byrd.

49ers signed FS Antoine Bethea

Eagles signed FS Malcolm Jenkins

Broncos signed FS TJ Ward

Along with that, both DL discussed were also signed away, Lamarr Houston to CHI and Arthur Jones to IND.

C'mon Ted! Sign him! 3-time Pro Bowl Player, 3-time All-Pro, 2-time AFC INTs leader...
