hahahaha I still don't buy it. We go 10-6 next year with a promise of a SB win the next season? That wouldn't suck, but it wouldn't be enough to satisfy me either. Take any individual game against anybody, even Seattle - the current flavor of the year; I just can't see the Packers not winning - assuming Aaron Rodgers is playing, and that is with the current crappy D, the marginal O Line, etc. Add some quality in a few key spots to that, and how could we not do a lot better than 10-6?

Does anybody here actually see us as the underdog against ....... anybody with this bunch? I sure don't.

Fix Safety and improve a couple of other spots, and we have the best team in the league, bar none.

I f get a "guaranteed SB every 5 years i would be willing to go 0-16 for the 4 years in between.

Initially my question was going to be If you could guarantee a SB win every 5 years what would you put up with in between?

The poll was going to be something like

4 years of sub 500 record
2 year just missing 2 years sub 500
4 years just missing playoffs (over 500)
4 years 1 and done
none, I'd rather have a team that was very good bet to make the playoffs every year and take my chances on what happens when we do. (Pretty much like we have now but not without improving our chances along the way)

I'm not sure if this would have made any difference in any responses.

Maybe I should have said 2 SB wins in a 10 year period. That would give hope for each season. Of course if we went back to back in the first 2 years the next 8 would suck, maybe even the next 16 before we hit on another BtB.

For a team like the Packers the way they are now, or how they should be providing they make a few upgrades this off season, I think a SB is a distinct possibility. I'd rather have a team that has a decent shot to win it every year. A team that realistically has a chance to beat any team they play (as opposed to an any given Sunday type chance.)

A guaranteed SB win every 5 years with no chance in between might look nice when tallying the championships 25 years from now but like others have said it would be rather boring or at least anticlimactic the years in between.

Its the off season and quite frankly I a little tired of the "which free agents would you like to see signed" along with the obligatory "TT won't sign them anyway so why bother" posts. Winning a Super Bowl or wishing on free agents or draft picks what we think in any case has no bearing on what will happen so in essence they are all just fantasy.

I doubt your additions would have changed anyone's opinion.
2 SB in back to back years and then 8 years of nothing would still add up the same but I would hate that.

I Agree there is no guarantee - cough look at denver ...

Team did great and then 'lucky plays' there was no way for a comeback after all those 'mis-cues'

and when we won the SB - the odds were heavily stacked against us (vegas odds) ... IMO the main things that were not; were the fact that we never lost a game by that much and some of our guys either came back or came into their own toward the end.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
