And when he has to regain his voice from screaming at himself for calling a fucking TD throw on 4th and 1.

That was a great call.

Single man coverage. Jennings is being covered by Vasher - who clearly has nothing left.

No Safety help.

Jennings even beat his man - he had at least a step on Vasher. Flynn made a bad throw - he threw it too deep. The defense being played was a dream scenario, frankly, because our best WR was guaranteed to get free and there was no deep coverage over Jennings. And Jennings did get free.

Unfortunately, the QB threw too deep. That play call was right, IMO.

We could develop a laundry list from hell of issues with this team today.

1st and foremost, to me, is that this team can't run block worth a damn. We had max protects with 2 TEs and Quinn in at times and Jackson/Starks STILL were getting hit in the backfield.

Couldn't pass block either.

Shit like this. There are multiple options on a pass play -- it wasn't four guys streaking down the field. Detroit had the box completely loaded. It was press coverage. The line had been dominated all day. Taking a shot there is honestly fine. Greg had him beat and the play almost happened.

AGAIN -- its unlikely the playcall was, "Go make it rain, Flynn. Disregard the other receivers and bomb it." But it was the read Flynn made, and had the throw been a bit more on, we'd be sitting here celebrating a comeback win.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

The entire offense was horrific even before Rodgers got hurt. I think they would've found a way to put together a decent second half had Rodgers been healthy, but.... Flynn was horrible, but so was the O-line. And the play calls on third and one and fourth and one at the end were bad too.

Ironically, you could argue that the game was lost on Flynn's longest completion, the pass to Jennings down the sideline. A good throw and that's a TD.

Also, on that last pass, a good throw is a TD and an underthrow is pass interference. But he overthrew it. I was hoping Flynn would at least play decently.

I think the biggest play of the game, though (not counting the injury to Rodgers), was Jennings failing to catch that deep ball in the first quarter. Instead of a TD, it became an interception. By the time Jennings got his head in the game, Flynn was in there, and he lacked the ability to get the ball to him deep.

As you said: Bad, bad loss.

Thats why it was a bad call, because you have to depend so much on him throwing it just right. WRs get overthrown all the time on deep routes during the game, then you try to have one on the most important play of the game, of course he is going to throw it too far, the pressure was immense. Look at the overthrow he had just before that across the middle. I saw they should have had a short crossing route or a curl.

Honestly, Jennings is being single covered, in man coverage, by a corner who is past his prime and who made his living playing in zone coverage.

He was not going to cover Jennings. No safety help over top, either.

Flynn made the right read; a better ball and that is a TD because Jennings had his man beat.

A called 4th and 1 defense is set up to take away the timing routes and short stuff. They basically dared Green Bay to go over the top. High percentage routes are high percentage against soft coverage, not aggressive press man-to-man.

If you want to criticize Flynn, go back to the INT in the endzone. The LB was there the whole time.

Not saying the biggest play of the game, but the Quarless fumble was during a mini-drive when the team was moving well.

I don't know that the Packers 'deserved' to win this game regardless, but good gracious we had a more than our fair share of shotgun wounds in the foot!
