Matt Flynn lost this game. He is not an NFL caliber player, and will eventually be cut.

When an offense only scores 3 points in 4 quarters, you can't blame it on any one call or any one play.

This was a group fail.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Thats why it was a bad call, because you have to depend so much on him throwing it just right. WRs get overthrown all the time on deep routes during the game, then you try to have one on the most important play of the game, of course he is going to throw it too far, the pressure was immense. Look at the overthrow he had just before that across the middle. I saw they should have had a short crossing route or a curl.

You're not going to get a better shot to score a TD. Frankly, if you can't trust your QB (even back-up) to make that throw then you need a new back-up.

Against the Vikings at Lambeau, Flynn made a similar throw on 4th down, but Quarless simply failed to get it. There is evidence that Flynn can make that throw. And we needed a TD.

All things considered, you are almost never going to see a team try to single cover Jennings with a corner groomed in zone coverage. The Lions did, and the Packers rightfully tried to take advantage of that. The pressure wasn't an issue on that play - Flynn had time to get off a good ball but overthrew it a touch.

You could say, given Flynn's earlier misthrows on crossing routes that those are not throws he is good at either. Frankly we weren't running the ball well either.

We needed a TD. the coverage on that play was to stop anything short. It's frankly a dream scenario - Jennings single covered by a CB who can't keep up with him who has no help over the top - that I'd be comfortable taking any situation where we need a TD to win.

I really want to pin this on him, and undoubtedly he had some bad throws (WAY off on slant to GJ just b4 his pick, missed Driver on easy 5 yarder near sideline nearly picked)...but in his defense, ARod wasn't doing a hell of a lot either, and our OLine must have been in KC with the Giants or something because they sure as hell didn't show up to Detroit today.

No Flynn interception with atleast a little bit of a running game, just saying.

Yes, because he clearly had ample time to throw the ball. It isn't like our o-line was getting manhandled or anything...

So, you're saying you do not want to target Donald Driver when he has a rookie CB that has been on the opposing team for less than one week? Because that is the scenario we found ourselves in.

Frankly, it was a poor read by Flynn - but you shouldn't be shocked by that because he has barely seen any extensive action to work on picking up a DE dropping in zone coverage.

That was just a terribly bad read by Flynn... but I'm not so sure I'd run it in a situation where our o-line is getting manhandled and we have a pretty damn good WR is being covered by a novice who has had less than a week with his new team.

Again, today very few RBs could have done much when they could barely get into a gap. Our o-line didn't exactly dominate the other guys... if you hadn't noticed.

Its not like the O was so much better in the first half. This was a team loss. Flynn kind of sucked but he had more scoring drives (1) than the team had in the first half (0).

Alright. Daddy just got a little angry. It's ok.
It WAS Matt Flynn's fault. Agreed. I'm just beside myself at the entire game. We're better than that.

What frustrated me is if you watch that play he was looking directly at the corner and the DE who dropped back, but just didn't pay any attention.
