You guys advocating for Moss are crazy. The last thing this team needs is a quitter, prima donna, has-been. If the dude wasn't happy playing with Brady or Favre, what makes you think he'll be content with Rodgers?

Ludicrous.

You know the team did pick up 4 guys off of waivers last week, including 2 that made meaningful contributions vs. the Jets (Walden, Green)

Ehh, he's got to be an upgrade over some of our OLBs. Anything to give us another pass rusher.

What makes you so sure he'd be an upgrade? He's declined so much that he got waived.

We gave Harrell a shot, why not Merriman? He has to be a bit of an upgrade from some of the guys we have. I'd bring him in for looksee atleast. he might be a good compliment to Matthews.

Why? Why does he have to be an upgrade? And why do people keep repeating this with no evidence whatsoever?

Here's my evidence to the contrary: He's done almost nothing in the last three seasons except get injured, and the Chargers put him on IR and then waived him.

My guess is this is for the PUP players... and a LB will be next... LB Robert Francois or ILB Matt Wilhelm or ODiyral Briggs.

~ Francois has been around longer and should know the system the best but hasn't done too much and got leap frogged at OLB by new OLB Erik Walden. Also has played on some STs and has played both OLB and ILB.

~ Wilhelm is a vet who's hasn't done too much other than start one season and back-up and STs a lot of seasons at ILB.

~ Briggs is very raw but very athletic 4-3 DE who's too small to play there other than maybe a KGB role of pass rush and limited run stopping... he's been trying to covert to OLB. But he's having troubles... he needs an attacking system... one that he knows what he's doing before the snap... and not one that is based on reading the offense after the snap of the ball because he has big trouble with that.

I suspect Al Harris or James Starks will be activated first.

Has anyone watched Merriman play in the past two season.. then try and quantify his salary into that production. Not worth a waiver claim.

If he passes waivers and we could sign him on a interim basis that he could prove he still has worth, great. Then try and ink him in the offseason for a longer term.

Maybe he will be hungry and play.. or maybe he pick a new B level porn star to make headlines with in his new city. 😉

Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.

wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
