I would like to see the Packers pick him up. However, I get the feeling that he'll probably re-sign with the Saints in the few days.

Actually, here is an interesting update on the McKenzie situation. He is subject to a limited waivers process that only allows teams who have qualified for the postseason to claim him.

McKenzie will be subject to limited waivers process
Posted by Mike Florio on January 2, 2010 3:57 PM ET
When we saw that the Saints had cut cornerback Mike McKenzie, a savvy veteran who provides depth and experience in a depleted defensive backfield, our first thought was that a team like the Bucs or the Falcons or the Panthers could tweak the Saints by making a waiver claim for the veteran defensive back, blocking New Orleans from bringing him back for the postseason.

As a league source explains it, however, cutting a player on the final Saturday of the regular season limits the teams that can make a waiver claim to teams that have qualified for the postseason.

So while a team like the Vikings or the Packers or any other playoff team may squat on McKenzie for the purposes of helping their own causes in the tournament, no non-playoff team will be able to stick it to the Saints by claiming McKenzie.

Given McKenzie's performance against the Patriots on November 30, New England might choose to claim him both for skill and for spite.

I really doubt that he would like to return to Packers. It would good if somehow we can grab him before other teams get a chance.

Could he decline to join? If he could, I think he would.

He probably has bad feelings about the Packers, but remember, that all went down during the Sherman era. I don't think any of the same coaches or front office people are here anymore. So maybe he would feel differently now, if the Packers wanted him. I would feel better having him back there than Jarett Bush.

IF Ted doesnt sign him, I am going to punch him in the face.

Only if this isnt one of those 're-signs with Saints 2 days later' things while NO gets their roster stuff in order.

But if he signs with a different team that isnt GB....bam, right in the kisser.
