he never played in a 3-4.

Yah... And I have never played in a 2-1 (Manaja Twa) But trust me... When the opportunity cums... A person can perform.

I think Mckenzie would be a big signing... Mckenzie would bea huge upgrade, and I agree with Trom.

Other than the punching Ted in the face part.

Hmm, if it's picking up his contract, I'd be game, well, I'd be game regardless. I'd rather him out there than Bush any day of the week.

it's not a situation of "would he want to come to GB" at this point. He's been cut, so before he gets the opportunity to sign anywhere he wants, he has to pass through waivers first.

"bozz_2006" wrote:

Yeah, you're right; I forgot that he had to pass through waviers (and I look even more stupid, as it was posted a few posts before mine).

I'd like Mike McKenzie the DB claimed off waivers by the Pack.

...Never had a mnage trois experience, either,[strike] came oh so close, vetoed it---foolish decision on my part.. in retrospect,[/strike] habla the point made.

I'd like Mike McKenzie the arrogant, game missing, me-first, f$ck the Packers, I'm gonna hold out and demand a trade player to just rot/twist-in-the-wind and be in a position that his agent is begging teams to sign his busted ass Mike Mckenzie to be subject to all kinds of team manipulations, whether it be the "Aint's, the Pack, some other team, or ideally...a combination of all of the above.

It's Bush's fault. In a perfect world, I'd like to say[strike] Trom[/strike] those that advovate signing him without reservation are full of shit on this one, but sadly, we (The Pack) have to consider signing this c#cksucker.

Not a big McKenzie fan. :thumbleft:

There is one other reason to sign him, btw.

It would keep the Vikings from signing him.

That last reason is enough to allow me to go along with allowing that traitorous, under contract but holds out anyway, really didn't give a shit who he screwed over beyatch back on the Pack.

dfosterf makes a good point. McKenzie really showed himself to be an ass when he left the Packers. He pretty much shot himself out of town, a la Jay Cutler. I lost all respect for him when he did that. But he was one of our best players when he was here. He was Al Harris before we had Al Harris: a top-tier cover corner with long dreads hanging out of his helmet.

I don't blame Bush for this, though. He is our #6 CB, and that's exactly how he plays. We would not be having this discussion if Harris, Blackmon, or Lee were healthy. I know we haven't seen much of Lee, but he was a second round pick, and I'm pretty sure he would be better than Bush if he was healthy.

I was being semi-tongue-in-cheek...I figure...What the hell, (I) We blame Bush for everything else, I might as well put this on him also.

I wish good things--- good things for young Bush, especially right about now

Since Trom wants to punch Ted in the kisser if we don't sign McKenzie, can we get him to punch McKenzie in the face if we do? :thumbleft:

Well Dave your safe, i can't believe you people still think Ted Thompson would bring in a vet to help the team and when he does he cuts them. So like i said Dave your safe and Trom you would be my hero if you actually were able to punch Ted Thompson in the face.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

This is kind of interesting.

I THINK everyone would have to be asleep at the switch for this to be true...WE (Packer "ether-world") knew before the deadline... and we don't have a waiver-wire...they have rules, ya know...

We (fans) usually find out what happened on Monday, if memory serves, but this is a little different, especially the part about a claim on a Fri/Sat in this scenario.

PFT-Saints might have slipped McKenzie through waivers

Saints might have slipped McKenzie through waivers
Posted by Mike Florio on January 3, 2010 8:09 AM ET
When word broke on Saturday that the Saints had elevated quarterback Chase Daniel to the active roster and had released cornerback Mike McKenzie, we assumed that an official announcement via e-mail from the team was coming, since the Saints typically announce all transactions via e-mail.

But no e-mail came.

And as the New Orleans Times-Picayune pointed out, the team actually announced the move on its web site as a Friday transaction, without sending out an e-mail.

Howard Balzer of the Sports Xchange tells us that, on the final weekend of the regular season, the deadline for claiming players waived on Friday is Saturday. So teams that might have considered snagging McKenzie's contract might not have realized that McKenzie was even available.

And now it's too late.

Sure, McKenzie is a free agent, and he can be signed by any interested team. But if he wants to spend the postseason with the Saints and if the Saints have made it clear that they'll bring him back once they no longer need Daniel on the roster, then McKenzie will be a Saint again.

So, in other words, the Saints apparently tried to keep the McKenzie cut quiet until it was too late for other teams to claim his contract -- and it apparently worked.

Or maybe it didn't. It's possible someone claimed McKenzie before 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, and that word of the move has yet to surface.
