It would kind of scare me to bring in a CB who does not know the system at all a week before the playoffs. Just saying. That's a recipe for disaster.

I am surprised that everyone wants him. I was joking about picking him up. If we were interested in short term boost at CB, I would try to get that troublemaker Chris Mcallister rather than McKenzie.

McKenzie would not have trouble 'learning the system' but even if he did, id take my chances with him over Jarrett "knows the system" Bush.

he never played in a 3-4. i know that's not that big change for a db, but he's not familiar with dom capers' playbook, too. I'd stay with our personell for sure.

The question should be: "would McKenzie want to come to GB?"

Before signing with the Saints, the Packers expressed their interest in him. He only had eyes for the Saints.

This time, I find it hard to believe that the Saints cut McKenzie without some 'win-wink, nod-nod' deal in place, where they cut him but promised him they'd resign him to a better contract or something (ala Banta-Cain of the Pats).

Cutting McKenzie after his solid performances doesn't make sense, unless he was raising hell in the locker room.

From what I've read recently, he's going to be signed back to the Saints after this weeks game.

it's not a situation of "would he want to come to GB" at this point. He's been cut, so before he gets the opportunity to sign anywhere he wants, he has to pass through waivers first. And that ain't up to him to decide.

I'm not 100% on this, but I believe is one is claimed on waivers they can reject signing with them, thus making them available for the next team in line. The NFL can't force you to sign a contract with a team.

Anyone else feel like McKenzie is a Tower of Hanoi puzzle this year? Seems like the Saints are just using him to cut/sign a couple of times to shift their roster exactly the way they need it to be without taking any chances with RFAs/UFAs getting picked up.

I don't think that's correct Zero. The thing is, he isn't signing a contract, because when a player is claimed on waivers, his existing contract goes with him. Unless there is some sort of rule where veterans don't go through the waiver process... ? But, it is clearly stated on PFT  that McKenzie will be subject to the waiver system, but only for playoff-bound teams. I think if someone picks up his contract, that's where he's going.
