To be fair, the coverage was there. Bell wasn't beaten or anything at all. Ben just had a clear throwing lane and delivered a strike.

Exactly...you can't defend a perfectly executed offensive play. On that particular play, Bell defended that about as well as you could have. BR threw the ball out of bounds and wallace made a great catch on a perfectly delivered football.

We're nit-picking some fairly tedious things here. The packers did go to prevent, which I don't like, but in spite of that, Cullen had the opportunity to ice the game on the penultimate play, the pack would have had a pick if not for a penalty...

The only problem I would say with Bell is that he should have pushed Wallace out. There is no force out right now. I would've done whatever it took to make sure no feet came in bounce. He didn't do that obviously.

I can't confirm this yet, but I'm thinking Bell missed his assignment. I think he was supposed to have outside contain, and thus force the WR inside where we had 3 deep safety help with Bigby / Collins / Woodson.

Props to the Steelers, especially Big Ben, for scoring. That was a heck of a throw, one Bell never could have defended.

Still, I want to read some comments from the coaches, because I have a hard time imagining that they'd want Bell in man when there were was help available to him if he forced his man inside.

That's also what Bell said he should've done,

"I could have, if I would have reached my hand into the basket of the receiver instead of looking back for the ball, or even just forced the receiver out, or lifted his leg if I could have lifted one leg up, it would have been incomplete."

The defense, as always, did not lose this game. They should keep doing what they are doing.
The Packers lost this game, because of all the dropped passes, Crosby's suckage and the refs.
Be real, how is that sack/fumble by Clay Mathews reversed? No F'n way. Plus, Mendenhall was out of bounds on that catch. The refs clearly had an agenda today, as they usually seem to for the Steelers.
But if we catch the ball successfully and make routine FGs, we beat the refs and the Superbowl Champs in their own house.

Anytime the offense racks up 36 points, and loses. I have a hard time saying it was not the defenses fault we lost.

We needed this to happen.

It's a tough loss but sooner or later our threadbare secondary was going to get picked apart.

Better now than in the playoffs (against Arizona for example).

Capers now has time to fix this. The tape of how to beat us is out there and Capers needs to come up with a new way of covering up our major weakness.

I put part of the failure of that last drive on Capers and his 3 man rush (against a bad OLine).

He's shown he's creative enough to overcome this sort of thing before.

Time for him to do it again.

This was an important loss for the team. They learned a lot from this week. I don't think there's much to fix just tune it up here and there.
