He shouldn't have been behind the receiver in the end zone when he was supposed to have over the top help from Bigby.
I don't care what he says he coulda or shoulda done he played it wrong.

On a play like that he should have defended with his other hand, and used the inside hand to push the reciever out of bounds, that is taught in high school.

which would have put his back to the play and left him subject to P.I.

In the END this loss was very damaging emotionally, I mean 3 seconds and Bell gave up the TD. Ahh man, And what was Atari Bigby doing jumping around in the end zone.

I would have put Charles Woodson on at man with WR and put Bell and Bush as S. We would have gotten a better chance then. Well in the end this one was hard to swallow.

Bell himself admitted he could have scooped into the receiver's basket, pushed the receiver out of bounds, or lifted one of the receivers legs to ensure he didn't get both feet down.

He could've done all those things and it might have prevented that play, but it would have also put the ball on the 1 yd line with an untimed down for PI.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

How often do you see a QB throw a ball half that fast (or accurate) in High School, and how often do you see a CB that's been riding the bench all year do so successfully?

Josh Bell was supposed to play underneeth and not let his man get in front of him as he had three safety deep to cover the over. That's how he failed.

And I'm telling you that nobody but Woodson or Collins has a better chance of successfully defending that play without a flag. Bush would have gotten lost, Tramon would have drew a flag, and I don't know about Bigby. I'm sorry, but I can't fault the guy for being brought off the bench and doing a better job that Bush would have done. I put a crapton more blame on lack of pressure and the playcall.

And I'm telling you if the DB plays in front of the WR, the throw is less likely to be thrown and caught. 😉 Remember, we had 8 in the secondary, he shouldn't have let his man get in front of him.
