I heard this morning that they have homicide investigators working on the case now. Hopefully he pulls thru, makes you realize how hard it must be for the pro athletes to actually find someone to love them for who they are and not for the money or the fame.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

It's just pro athletes who have that struggle.

I feel similar about this as I did when I learned about the Sean Taylor shooting. I monitored the progress closely until the tragic end result. I'm hoping for Chris' (and three children) sake he pulls through this. I admire guys changed their life for the better after making monumental mistakes, I can relate to them.

Pull through Chris, pull it through.

Mike and Mike just reported that Chris Henry passed away at 6:36am, sad, sad story.

The guy had his troubles but looked like he was on the right path this year before he broke his arm.

Just totally sad, pray for his family and teamates.

Chris Henry passes away
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on December 17, 2009 9:56 AM ET
Charlotte police have confirmed that Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry died Thursday morning at 6:26 A.M.

Henry suffered injuries after he "came out" the back of a pickup truck following a domestic situation.

Henry was 26 years old.

We'll have more on this story shortly.

Sorry, but I'm not buying the changed bit yet. She tried to leave during a domestic dispute, and he jumped in the back of the truck so she couldn't get away from him. Sounds like the same old Henry to me. If any charges are filed against her, you can count on a self-defense plea.

I really get bothered by posts like this, but what the heck, I'll bite anyway.

No one is asking you if he changed or if you buy into it and no one cares either. The man passed away. You have no respect for his improvements, nor have any idea what he went through or how far he came from where he was, which you also don't know. So, you buy it, or not, I don't give a damn.

For the record, I don't know either, nor do I mean to imply as such.

It just pisses me off when people who are ignorant to someones life, are quick to discredit or discharge any resemblance of improving. Why? Because I've went through and still do every day.

Regarding jumping into the back of a pickup. No, it wasn't wise, regardless of knowing the outcome. Perhaps she was under a influence of some drug or alcohol and he was hoping by him jumping in the back, she would not continue to drive.

There's always two sides to the story and regardless of why he jumped into the back of the truck, it does NOT negate his efforts of improving his life.

What improvements? That's the whole point. Just going around telling people you've changed doesn't make you a changed man. He died as he lived most of his public life: doing something stupid, fighting with someone. It's a shame he died, and it was a waste. But from the sound of it, Chris Henry continued to be his own worst enemy up until it got him killed. Emerson's quote comes to mind, "What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say."

After the Bengals re-signed him in the 2008 offseason, Marvin Lewis basically said "this is your last chance". He had no altercations after that, and played well as a #4 WR. So do we just ignore his "improvements" just because his career was cut short, and therefore spent the majority of his NFL career in legal troubles? I'm willing to bet that had he lived to end his career properly, he would've "stayed clean" until the end.
