You know guys, maybe if this is true, just maybe, this is why we build through the DRAFT, because we can't build through FA.

dudes.

* it's a small town
* it's the mid-west (not exactly "party time")
* it's fucking COLD
* we don't have the most stable environment lately
* the Packers are not a "showy" organization and frown upon this.

also:

* people have really funny accents

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

Well I don't think it's the reason... I think Thompson doesn't like throwing around money over paying them is the reason and face it most teams don't let good players that are also good in the locker room go very often. I think we scored huge in Pickett and amazingly in Woodson. But clearly this doesn't help ether...

As far as the hair cut thing I don't think we have to worry about that problem with Harris, Bigby, Hawk and Matthews

Also how many of the players live in Green Bay area during the off season? ... I think (partly guessing from who has talked about it) Kampman, Hawk, Pickett, Barnett, Jennings? and maybe Jackson?...

The players I think else where (partly guessing) in the off season include Rodgers, Woodson, Harris, Collins, Bigby, Jolly, Tausher....

I don't think it has anything to do with Ted Thompson or player contracts. This has been the case for many years. In my opinion:

1. VERY limited social life or even things to do on their off days.
2. It's cold as a shit icicle falling out of a cruising airliner.
3. Like it or not, I am sure there is a stereotype about GB that black people won't feel comfortable there. Take a look in the stands. It's probably the most homogenous crowd in the NFL.

On the positive side, once players come here - and if they're serious about playing football and maybe settling down in a good safe place with a family - they normally like it a lot and want to stay.

Think back to the early 90's... same type of attitude was seen towards Green Bay.

The NFL started to see and interact with a very good QB that gave the team a shot to compete for a SuperBowl for the next couple years.

And then.. we inked an true impact player and we became a relevant place to come play.

We are getting the pieces in place to make a sustained run on the roster.. we have a very good QB that will give us a chance to win every game we play.

We might not repeat a headliner like White again.. but if we attract one player like a Dawkins, Lewis or Seymour... someone that has a ton of clout in the league..

If you really want to play the game of football.. the type of players you want, I don't think Green Bay will chase anyone away.

If you want to party all night.. have more focus on getting laid than laying someone's ass out on the field.. Green Bay is never going to attract to you... but if you want to win we have the pieces in place to do just that talent wise.

Keep in mind in order to land White they had to pay him huge unheard of money.

It was well worth it. Like you said that led to landing other quality players (at reasonable prices)
Sometimes you need to over pay. Sometimes you have to do more than just building thru the draft.

Very true, but one of the major components to inking White beyond money was a young QB that could play this game and give the team a chance to win every Sunday.

We have that component.. and Aaron's reputation is growing nicely in this league. That will help sway players in our favor.

All the reasons these players might hate GB, is why I love it. If I played in the NFL, GB would be my first choice.

This is one thing that the Ted Thompsonhaters continue to not understand about the choices he has to make when chasing Free Agents he would like to sign IF HE COULD.

dfosterf (26-Jun) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”

Zero2Cool (23-Jun) : PFT claims Packers are having extension talks with Zach Tom, Quay Walker.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jun) : GB-Minnesota 2004 Wild Card game popped up on my YouTube page....UGH

Mucky Tundra (19-Jun) : One person on Twitter=cannon law

Zero2Cool (19-Jun) : According to Tweeter

dfosterf (18-Jun) : Beats the hell out of a Vikings signing
Zero2Cool (18-Jun) : Baltimore Ravens now have signed former Packers CB Jaire Alexander.
dfosterf (14-Jun) : TWO magnificent strikes for touchdowns. Lose the pennstate semigeezer non nfl backup
dfosterf (14-Jun) : There was minicamp Thursday. My man Taylor Engersma threw
dfosterf (11-Jun) : There will be a mini camp practice Thursday.

Mucky Tundra (10-Jun) : How's the ayahuasca tea he makes, Martha?
Martha Careful (10-Jun) : Turns out he like older women
Martha Careful (10-Jun) : I wasn't supposed to say anything, but yes the word is out and we are happy 😂😂😂

Mucky Tundra (10-Jun) : Well he can always ask his brother for pointers
Zero2Cool (10-Jun) : Bo Melton taking some reps at CB as well as WR
Zero2Cool (10-Jun) : key transactions coming today at 3pm that will consume more cap in 2025
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : Jaire played in just 34 of a possible 68 games since the start of the 2021 season
