I love Kampman, but he not fitting into this system with his talent, only 1 sack and several pressures. He has high value and we should be able to get a perennial Oline for him. Thoughts?

Who? Which team is going to give up a Oline starter for a DE at this point. Is there a team that is desperate for DE
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

You're not going to get a decent O-lineman for just Kampman unless a team has an extra starting lineman sitting around and is desperate for an O-Lineman. I'm the first to bitch about personnel and not doing your best in the preseason to plan for the worst, but what you propose (which isn't very specific) isn't going to work... at least now.

terrible idea!

how about we change the defensive scheme and allow our best pass rusher to actually rush the passer.

did it ever occur to our defensive coordinator that the packers have no where near the talent the Steelers had on their defensive line, therefore, the scheme that was succesful in Pitt, may not work in GB.

just a thought

WTF didn't you watch the defense last year the 4-3 didn't work to well did it? I know you like to do alot of bashing but switching to the 3-4 was a good thing and it will take a few years to get all the guys needed for it. This is all a learning experience for most of our defensive players.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I think Kamp should be traded, mainly because he's in a contract year. I don't think he'll get a new contract in GB. I don't think we'll get an OL for him, it would have to be a draft pick. If he leaves via FA, I believe we can receive up to a 3rd rd. compensatory pick. so, it's going to be either trade him before the 20th for a 2nd round pick or 3rd round plus more picks, or wait until after the season, tag him, then trade him. I'm not happy about the situation, but I don't see Kamp doing well playing LB.

I think the Packer will try to hold on to Aaron, but I am afraid that Aaron will want to walk away from the Packers.. he might adjust to this scheme fine, but he will have more impact from a down position.. I think Kampy is playing the team player he has always been this year.. not complaining but not happy either.

And with the way the league is structured, Aaron will be franchised and not have his freedom to move where he might want to via the franchise tag.. like it or not.. we may have his and our best interest at heart right now to move Kampman..

Where is indeed the question.. and can we get proper value in return is second.

And to be clear.. Peppers for Kampman won't help us..

Oakland traded Derrick Burgess for a third and fifth a couple years ago right?

One way or the other, we can't let Kampman go without any compensation in return. I have a sneaking feeling he'll end up with Minnesota if we let him walk unabaded. I would love to send him to Tampa to try and get one of their young o-linemen or to St. Louis to get one of theirs (Jason Brown/ Alex Barron). I doubt those teams have the depth at tackle to make that trade.

Stupid idiotic assinine impractical

How do any of you know that he DOESNT FIT :he Kampman is what 4 months and 4 games. For the love of everything that is Green Bay. Let's say in week 9 or 11 if same issues are occuring then sure.
To trade him now would be stupid cause what if it starts to click.
What u know is stiill better than whqat u dont
I am therefor I think.
