The reason I ask is that Kampman really isn't a 3-4 guy. He's a 4-3 end, and he's in a contract year. At his age, probably the last big payday of his career. So he was none too thrilled about switching positions.
Send him somewhere that can use him at his proper position, and maybe we can pick up the next "Ryan Grant," only at the LT position. You KNOW Ted Thompson can find somebody. And he's not giving up draft picks.
This will not change the MM's love affair with the zBS, but at least it might stabilize our Oline.
I've always thought Barnett was overrated. The "Darren Sharper" of LBs. Anyway, we have lots of depth at LB, that's for sure.

Well they re-evaluate Clifton tomorrow. I was thinking maybe the Bills nabbed Meredith off our PS, because they suspected he was our fallback position. Ergo, maybe Ted Thompson has to make a different move.

You sell Kampman way to low after two games in the 3-4. You don't trade the anchor of your front seven for the last five seasons give or take in the middle of the season. If anything, Green Bay can franchise him in the off-season and move him to a 4-3 team then, but not right now especially since the value will be awful. Maybe they get a 2nd and a project at tackle. They won't get any solution right now in a trade for a player.

Besides the Packers need Kampman's pass rush ability which he's flashed a bit. He hasn't been dominate, but he also hasn't been a big liability in the pass coverage like some thought.

Why move Kampman and create another hole or even tick off the lockerroom? The players certainly wouldn't be to fond of that move.
