People need to jump off that crap.. saying it was a mistake not to retain a player like Smith isn't out the realm.. it was a freaking mistake.. Ted, Mike and company made it.. it is what it is. Just as they made some great calls as well, building a roster in the NFL is a hit and miss proposition by nature.. call them as we see them.

To be fair, I don't think anyone has a problem with the idea that it might have been a mistake. I think the complaints are more that we're (and I do mean that collectively - not trying to single you or anyone else out) dwelling on it every week, and it's not something that can be un-done. Just doesn't seem terribly productive.

Overall, I think some here are feeling very pessimistic and others less so - that's leading to some tensions, I think.

Would anyone else be behind a Kampman for Steven Jackson swap? You know Spagnoulo loves his d-linemen....

My heart is so strongly against losing Kampy that it's almost impossible for me to think about it. I just hate the idea of giving up that kind of heart and work ethic.

Also, I think Florio spit-balled that a 3rd rounder might get it done.

Agreed.. I think the first ray of sunshine that we are starting to correct some of these running (oline fundamentals, lack of a consistent pass rush, playcalling to name a few) over the course of a game or two, things will start to brighten up.

Speaking personally, when watching some of the same fundamentals broken in 09 that were broke in 06,07 and 08.. it becomes hard to keep giving rope to this staff until they start climbing some.

That leads to one disappointed Packer fan that talks to much. 😉

Si, senor. McCarthy just said so at his presser. Korey Hall is out for a couple weeks with a strained calf.

I wonder what happened to DeShawn Wynn this year. He looks fat and slow. Maybe they are thinking of dumping him when Brandon Jackson gets healthy so they can bring in someone else as the third-stringer.

I think that was most likely the plan, but Jackson being hurt kind of messed things up. It was too late to PUP him and they didn't want to go with Grant and an unproven Tyrell Sutton.

If I remember right, Jackson was injured in the Cardinals game?

So, the Packers not wanting to go with only Grant and Sutton and instead Grant and Wynn, I understand that and don't disagree. I forgot about how long Jackson has been hurt. I think they wanted to stash Sutton away on the practice squad.

If Jackson is still out that must have been one hell of a serious ankle injury! What is it, like week #8 now or so?

Sutton couldn't block. Neither could Lumpkin.

Wynn is our best blocking back (not saying much....)

The way our o-line is playing, I'd rather have a back that can block than one that might be a little bit faster.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024

dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately

Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
